There’s a lot to like about Gibson’s game. He is a slick, quick midfielder who can dodge from all over the field and score on the run with both hands. One of the most impactful parts of his game is his compact, smooth release. It does not take him long to go from windup to release, which makes his shot look even faster to goalies. At IMLCA, I saw him score with his right hand going down the alley and with his left hand after he stopped and shot around his defender going up the hashes. That is a good example of the many ways he can score and the different spots from which he can do it. This summer, I have also seen him feed well behind the goal and use his windup to open up teammates on the backside.
