Ryan’s sophomore season is off to a fast start, and his stock continued to rise on Springfield’s recent spring break road trip. During Springfield’s overtime win over Northport out on Long Island, Ryan scored two goals and handed out an assist. He followed up that impressive effort by posting one goal and dishing out two apples in a win over Ridgewood (NJ). Ryan has excelled at getting downhill, blowing past his defender, and then firing a rocket into the net. His athleticism and quick burst have enabled Ryan to cook initial defenders when he initiates from the wing or up top. Ryan’s physicality and elusive stick maneuvers allowed him to run through stick / body checks until he could get his hands free for a shot or a pass. His high-level transition skills have been on full display, too.
