There are positives and negatives when evaluating goalies in a showcase setting, where they lack familiarity and structure with the defenders. He started off with a big game but as the day progressed, things didn’t always go his team’s way, yet Choi responded admirably and showed off the qualities that make him a promising young goalie prospect with considerable upside. A highly athletic lefty with an explosive top hand, Choi made some acrobatic saves when going low. Out of the cage, he was more than happy to clear the ball over midfield himself and show off his athleticism. He communicated at a high level and seemed to be a rock-solid leader, especially when his team needed his positivity following some defensive miscues.
