Expert Analysis
Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Mainly operating from behind the net, Schweiger finished with three assists on Friday. On a team with five or six guys who could start at attack, Schweiger stood out to me because of how active he was in that righty X spot in the Pirates’ offensive zone set. He always keeps his feet moving with his head up making the smart plays. The Air Force commit has five goals and five assists so far this season.

Seton Hall Prep has been a top team in New Jersey for a while now, and it’s due in part to guys like Schweiger. He isn’t the biggest attackman, but what he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in speed. He’s a natural righty but can shoot and pass cleanly with both hands. When dodging he uses his good footwork and quick change of direction to create space from defenders at X and then either find an open teammate or finish on the doorstep. Scoring 34 goals last season, Schweiger works well without the ball in his stick and has good placement and a quick release after cutting off-ball. The Air Force commit doesn’t just score, he can also dish the rock. Last season he was 2nd on his team with 28 assists while tying for 2nd with 62 points, awarded 3rd Team All-Non-Public A recognition for his work at attack. Seton Hall Prep is the clear-cut alpha in Essex County, as the Pirates won their county tournament again and they were cruising at 16-0 coming off a one-goal win against Delbarton before losing 12-5 to a highly talented Malvern Prep (Pa.) squad. Seton Hall Prep would go on to lose to Delbarton 10-9 in the Non-Public Group A state title game, so the Pirates are out for vengeance this season, with Schweiger one to watch for a stacked SHP roster.
