He is athletic & aggressive while making an impact wherever he is on the field. Carter has to be accounted for in an opponent’s scouting report as someone you want to stay away from with the ball, keeping possession out of his zone. He is swarming at the top of the box near the restraining line. Martin chops his feet & can throw stick checks to dislodge the ball. He is a physical defender who will also lower the shoulder & deliver a hit! Carter has a fundamental stick, off & running with a groundball. He can push the transition & find the open man on the break. Martin can match feet below the goal line & win the match up behind. He is an effective anchor in the clear & he can shoot it if he crosses the midline. A consensus 4-star prospect. Verbally committed to North Carolina.
