After beginning his high school career at Connecticut’s Canterbury School, Hoffman made his way to Lake Avenue last year, spending a season alongside his brother Parker, now a freshman face-off specialist at UNC. Like Parker, Caden is unique in that he’s a lefty after the draw, but he brings his own strengths to the position and is a tad bigger than his older brother yet on the slight side. His anticipation and hand speed allow him to win the ball out in front and to himself with regularity, and perhaps more notably, his athleticism and ball skills make him both an offensive threat and a reliable set-up man. As he enters his junior year, refining his versatility and unpredictability at the X will be key to standing out in a league packed with elite coaching and top-tier face-off competition.
