Expert Analysis

Yet another Division-I prospect in this matchup, Cade has taken the next step in an already impressive career. During his junior campaign, he’s paced the MBA offense, scoring 44 goals and adding another 39 assists. Cade is seemingly ambidextrous and can creating, score, and distribute with both hand equally. His rare combination of twitchy quickness and top-end speed make him nearly impossible to guard. He also has an impressive IQ for a high school player, exemplified by his balanced goal:assist ratio despite being MBA’s marked man. The Army commit can contribute on the defensive side of the ball as well, causing 17 turnovers and collecting 38 ground balls.

The Army verbal made his presence known on Saturday afternoon as he took the reigns, as usual, as the quarterback of the Big Red offense. Sturdivant looks comfortable and confident playing nearly anywhere on the offensive end. He is an especially strong dodger who is arguably at his best when making plays for his teammates. He was the best feeder and passes on the field. Sturdivant ended the day with two scores.

A strong quarterback for the MBA offense, Sturdivant has shown the ability to make plays anywhere on the field. While he was held in check for portions of the game but did show the ability to break through and make those plays most are accustomed to seeing from him. The junior Army verbal ended the game with four points off two goals and two assists.

After earning 1st Team All-State honors and lighting up the scoreboard as a sophomore with 26 goals and 45 assists, Cade returns for his junior season looking to turn more heads. The smooth midfielder has fluid hips and quick feet that consistently earn him a step or two on his defender. A true quarterback of the offense, he dodges to feed first but is capable of putting the ball in the net on his own. Equally gifted with both hands, Cade poses a threat to opposing defenses from anywhere on the field. Verbally committed to Army.

The silky smooth midfielder out of Montgomery Bell Academy is a true quarterback – often dodging to feed first and setup his teammates. Not overly athletic but shifty enough to consistently beat his defender and put pressure on the defense. Has demonstrated a strong lacrosse IQ by reading defenses and making the right decision, proven by his 45 assists in his sophomore season. After a strong summer playing with Team 91 Maryland, Cade should draw plenty of interest from the collegiate ranks.

I really like Sturdivant’s game. Quick as a hiccup, the Nashville native has one of the best first steps among the ’26s that I’ve evaluated so far. In lacrosse, when you’re on the smaller side, you can make up for that with speed, toughness and skill, and Sturdivant checks all of those boxes and more. He’s super versatile as an offensive weapon and good things happen whenever he’s on the field, whether he’s playing attack or running out of the box. Sturdivant scores after getting to the island when dodging from behind, creates separation up top with a hitch or rollback, and can sling it from deep.
