Expert Analysis
Ty Xanders | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Based on what I’ve seen from James up to this point (along with his spring production, which speaks for itself), he’s one of the Mid-Atlantic’s best offensive players still on the board. James, a lefty, is a two-time All-WCAC attackman and a middie for Next Level, so he’s dangerous as an invert weapon. Opportunistic, highly skilled, and proficient in the two-man game, he does a really nice job of creating off the re-dodge and taking advantage of less-then-stellar approaches. He’s great at setting up his dodges and has a nice little hitch move to free up his hands. Going forward, I’d love to see him make strides with his right hand and handling contact, but overall, there’s a lot to like.

James earned a ton of respect as a freshman, racking up 49 goals and 17 assists and earning All-WCAC honorable mention recognition as an attackman. As a lefty middie for Next Level, he was a threat to make things happen off of the invert and also tallied a few pretty goals when sweeping across the top to finish with four in the last game of the day. Quick and shifty with the ball in his stick, he scored some big boy goals and never backed down from poles that were much bigger than him, getting his hands free with an impressive burst of speed and deception.
