Morris didn’t want to go home just yet. The senior headed to the Naval Academy tallied two goals and dished out three assists to help the Phantoms come back and defeat Rye in an epic game. Morris plays midfield for Bayport and even occasionally takes faceoffs. He was all over the field impacting the game anyway he could. But what he does best is shoot the rock. And in the second half, the lefty sniper had two game changing goals in this semi-final battle that were ultimately the difference. When Bayport was trailing 5-4, the Phantoms had an unsettled situation and it was Morris who capitalized. He caught a pass from X and he stepped in from 15 where he unleashed a low laser to tie it up. With 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Bayport and Rye were knotted up at 7. Bayport was up two players and Morris scored the go-ahead goal on the EMO. He stepped in from the low lefty shooting spot and had one of the prettiest shots of the day. A low to high rip that went top shelf to put Bayport up by 1 and they would go onto win 9-8.

The Navy-bound senior had a game-changing sequence that was one of the difference makers in this game. Morris was playing defensive midfield when the Phantoms were leading 8-7 with just under nine minutes left in the game. Morris would do an amazing job pinching inside and checking the stick of Wantagh player on the crease to break up a pass that would’ve most likely resulted in a game-tying goal. After his great defense, the referee ruled the Wantagh player in the crease, giving Bayport possession. On the Phantoms’ next offensive possession, Morris would go to work up top. His defender elected to get high in an attempt to completely take away the middle of the field, and Morris then dodged hard down the alley. The crafty lefty connected on an incredible twister on the run that went in between the goalie’s legs to give Bayport a 9-7 lead for the final goal of the game. Morris also contributed two assists to finish with 3 points.
