Rivera possesses impressive size, fast hands, and outstanding agility. Those assets combined with Rivera’s tracking skills and active stick produce a high percentage of clean saves. Rivera also has knack for making kick saves or using other parts of his body to stop low shots. Rivera has an aggressive style, so he will not hesitate to leave his line in order to cut down shooting angles or to steal a pass intended for the crease area. His poise and quick reflexes enable Rivera to turn away scoring opportunities in close. Once the ball is in his stick, Rivera will execute a smartly placed and precise clearing pass. College coaches will love the way Rivera directs the defensive unit in front of him with his clear communication.
