Lawrenceville opted to double-pole the Brunswick midfield. Part of the Bruins’ plan was to attack the lone shorty in the midfield and try to create. Lumpris was that midfielder, and he was up to the task all day. Brunswick tried to make him guard out of the invert, from up top, all over the field, and Lumpris never really looked uncomfortable. His footwork was outstanding, staying hip to hip with dodgers and rarely even requiring a slide to help him. Lumpris was another key piece of the Lawrenceville ride. He’ll play football at Air Force, and he played in the ride like a safety looking for crossing routes to light up.
