Churchwell possesses a strong step-down shot and can find the back of the net at range. Athletic and agile, he makes some impressive moves when he spots an opening and does not back down from physical play. His frame and reach enable him to exploit shooting angles around defenders as well as creating chaos in ground ball situations. He is a physical player who can catch opponents off guard when they least expect it, making plays on the crease or at a distance. Churchwell is determined when he plays the game and has a good stride to go along with it.

Churchwell’s standout quality from the games I watched was how the players around him trusted him with the ball. He has great size, which he uses to play physically, making him very hard to contain. When Churchwell keeps the ball, he’s got a wicked step-down shot, and can shoot just as well on the run. If there’s an open man, he has the ability to find them through traffic and keeps his eyes up when moving.
