earned THSLL All-State in 2024 at Cy-United totaling 64 points with 37 goals & 27 assists. He had a fruitful freshman spring season on Varsity in 2023 scoring & assisting goals, forcing turnovers as well as helping the team in the clear. Alek breaks pressure as an authoritative scorer. He is one of the best midfielders in Texas who can create for himself. Askeroglu moves swiftly on the field with quality stick-work & passing. He is a speedy midfielder who posted timed runs: 4.6 (40-yard dash) & 11.44 (100-meter sprint). Alek is dangerous in the ride where he drops back then he moves like a flash to pick off passes from the goalie or cause disruption in the midfield. Students of the game in the ACC know on average a turnover in the middle of the field is usually worth half a goal. Askeroglu is one of the most highly touted prospects to ever come out of the city (Houston) & he rips the ball! A consensus 4-star prospect & top-100 player in his class. Verbally committed to Duke.
