Lynch the Iona College commit was South Side’s most dangerous player. He scored on a hitch-and-go dodge early and followed it up with a ridiculous behind-the-back finish in the second half. His playmaking drew attention and forced Manhasset’s defense to adjust. He also assisted on a key second-half goal and remained aggressive throughout.

The crafty lefty for South Side made a case as the breakout player of the year on Long Island. After only scoring just eight goals as a sophomore, Lynch netted 53 in his junior season to finish second on the team. Lynch was a crucial piece to the state champions with his ability to play anywhere within the offense. The Cyclones had him at midfield and due to his athleticism, the opposition was forced to double-pole the midfield, at times even triple-poling. He has a laser of a lefty shot and proved he can score in a variety of ways. Lynch can beat poles from anywhere on the field and can score on contested shots on the run. Lynch has become an incredible goal-scorer who can place the ball anywhere, change levels constantly, and sling it from 15 yards and in with ease.

. The uncommitted junior added 3 more goals in the state championship and helped the Cyclones start this comeback. It was a quite first half for Lynch, but then he picked things up in the second half. South Side was down 8-3 under four minutes, and Lynch would score two straight goals to give the Cyclones life. Lynch made a defender nearly fall down when he spun back to his left handed and ripped a shot top shelf from around 15 yards. His second goal has already went viral on social media. Lynch’s stationary behind the back bounce shot found the back of the net and fired up the South Side crowd to trim the lead to just 3. Lynch’s athletic ability and knack to find the net has been on display all season. He scored his third goal on an unsettled situation in the 4th quarter. Lynch sprinted by defenders where he protected his stick and connected on a tough shot.

Lynch only had eight goals last season and now has 47 tallies in a special junior campaign. He finished with a hat trick in this game and now has at least three goals in every playoff game. His first goal came very early in the game where South Side elected to play fast and it paid off. A flag was on the field and the Cyclones had a free possession. Lynch had the ball on the wing and noticed confusion with the defense. He went straight to the cage from the low lefty wing and showed no fear as he finished through a big hit to give South Side a 2-0 lead. The crafty lefty also showcased his off-ball prowess, as that’s how he scored his second. After the ball hit the pipe, Lynch saw his teammate pick it up and he then timed his cut perfectly. Lynch got into a pocket, where he had a great angle, and immediately displayed his quick release on his second tally. His third goal came on a sneaky cut from that low lefty spot when South Side was man down. He caught the Redmen sleeping and was able to make them pay.
