Pennsylvania Prospect Commitments From Early August

Below is a review of five prospects from Pennsylvania who gave their verbal commitment to play college lacrosse during the first few weeks of August.    Abrahams is an athletic and agile two-way midfielder who recently committed to Division III powerhouse Salisbury University. This past spring, Abrahams scored 45 goals and handed out 26 assists. Those stats earned him a 1st Team All-Ches-Mont selection. Abrahams is a matchup nightmare on the perimeter. He is comfortable dodging from up top as well as the wing. His explosive first step allows Abrahams to cook his initial defender and then dash into open space for a crank on the run. The quick release and velocity on Abrahams' shots is impressive. His ability to fire with his left or right hand keeps opposing goalies guessing. Abrahams has also demonstrated that he can carry the ball to X and then initiate or feed from behind the net. The Salisbury coaching staff will love that Abrahams can hustle back on defense and operate as a rock-steady SSDM.     During his breakout junior campaign, Albrecht poured in 50 goals and dished out 22 assists. For an encore, Albrecht torched opponents on the summer circuit with his speed and polished skill set. So, it should not come as a surprise that Albrecht recently committed to Manhattan. The Jaspers are adding a versatile prospect with size and agility who can run at both attack and midfield. Albrecht is a shifty dodger who can initiate from anywhere in the offensive end and then change direction multiple times on his runs to the net. He is especially effective at initiating from X and then executing several cut-back moves in order to lose his defender. Once he has separation, Albrecht will streak around the corner for a scoring chance in close. Additionally, this lefty is an effective catch-and-fire threat from GLE. Albrecht can also work the high crease area for quick stick goals.     Donesec recently committed to Salisbury University. That news means the highly decorated Sea Gulls program has landed one of the top two-way midfielders in western Pennsylvania. During the 2026 high school season, Donesec netted 48 goals and vacuumed up an incredible 105 ground balls. Those astonishing stats earned Donesec 1st Team All-Section 2 honors. Donesec's scoop-and-go skills enable him to thrive in transition. Once Donesec has secured possession, his speed enables him to separate from the pack. His elusive moves and nifty stick maneuvers allow him to carry the ball deep into the offensive end. Donesec's polished stick skills will then produce creative finishes around the crease. On defense, the combination of Donesec's smooth lateral movements, physicality, and active stick makes him a suffocating on-ball presence. His relentless motor, positioning skills, and sure-handed stick work help him secure ground balls in traffic.     McCarthy was recently profiled on this site as a 2027 we'd offer immediately and as a standout performer from the New Balance All-America event. Well, it appears college coaches finally stopped sleeping on this highly skilled midfielder with a winning pedigree, as McCarthy just committed to Providence. McCarthy owns noteworthy speed, elusive stick maneuvers, and a high IQ. That trifecta makes McCarthy a serious threat to score in transition. In 6v6 action, McCarthy can get downhill in a flash, elude sliding defenders, and then shoot/distribute on the run. With his pinpoint accuracy and power, McCarthy is a feared perimeter shooter too. His unselfish nature and field vision make McCarthy a creative distributor. During the 2026 high school season, McCarthy helped push Malvern Prep to the PAISAA state title.     This past week, Shervin committed to Mercyhurst, which means that one of the top net minders in southeastern Pennsylvania is off the board. During his incredible junior campaign, Shervin notched 14 wins, posted a 62% save percentage, and pushed Upper Dublin to the District 1-2A championship game. Shervin is a long and athletic goalie with fast hands. Those items combined with his tracking skills make Shervin a brick wall against perimeter shots. Shervin's patience and quick reflexes enable him to stone close-range shooters too. This rising senior also excels at using any part of his body to make a save. Shervin owns surprising speed, which helps him run down loose balls and win chases. Once the ball is in his stick, Shervin will deliver smartly placed clearing passes that generate transition opportunities.
