is a 6’0″ left-handed midfielder known for his soft cradle and explosive first step. A dangerous dodger off the high wing, he excels at sweeping across the top and shooting on the run with his left hand or using an S dodge to gain separation and finish down the alley. Vincent made a significant impact as a sophomore and is expected to take on an even larger role in Taft’s offense this season. His combination of quickness, skill, and finishing ability makes him a key piece of the midfield unit.

Vincent Raphalian is a talented midfielder from the Taft School and a standout player for Leading Edge. A key contributor on a loaded Taft team, Vincent started as a sophomore, showcasing his ability to compete at the highest level. He is a dominant midfielder with a powerful outside shot and a quick release that makes him a consistent scoring threat. His on-the-run shot is one of his standout skills, and he has a fantastic step-down shot with both hands, allowing him to score from anywhere on the field. At 6 feet tall, Vincent has a solid frame with great speed that he uses to his advantage in both shooting and dodging situations. His stick skills are excellent, and he’s also a great finisher, capable of finishing around the crease with poise and precision. Vincent’s all-around shooting ability, coupled with his size, speed, and skill, makes him a dangerous and versatile offensive weapon.

Raphalian, a high-energy lefty playmaker, can do a lot of things at a high level and is coming off of an impressive summer. While I’m not sure where he stands with his recruitment, he got a lot of rave reviews from college coaches at high-academic schools. An incredibly skilled attack/middie prospect who began his career at Rumson-Fair Haven (N.J.), Raphalian plays with a ton of confidence and can shoot it from range at a high clip. He’s at his best above the cage, but is plenty capable of making things happen off the invert. He’s got soft hands, a rapid release, and a willingness to put his nose in the dirt to get big groundballs. More than anything, he makes the right play rather than the home-run play and always plays within himself. Raphalian constantly caught my eye as a sophomore for Taft, and I’d be willing to bet that he has a big-time junior season for the Rhinos.
