Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Colley is a stock rising ’29 with fast hands and incredible agility. Combine those assets with Colley’s ability to track shooters, and you get a goalie who makes a high percentage of clean saves. Colley is an aggressive net minder who pops off his line to make saves on the top side. When shooters attempt to score off-hip or low, Colley uses his quick but controlled drops to make saves. He will not hesitate to use any part of his body to keep the ball out of the net. Plus, Colley does a tremendous job of finding loose balls around the crease and aggressively covering those potential second chances. Once the ball is in his stick, Colley delivers smart as well as timely outlet passes. College coaches will love the poise Colley already plays with as a freshman.

Big, fiery, and athletic, Colley moves exceptionally well out of the cage, possessing the elusiveness to outrun even the most ferocious rides. He plays with a wide, low stance before exploding upward on high shots, while dropping smoothly to his knees on low offerings. Colley also does an excellent job of making himself big in tight, making life difficult for shooters, and he’s known for producing stellar double saves and stymying would-be goal-scorers in 1v1 situations. Overall, there’s a lot to like, as he’s as composed and dialed in as most upperclassmen. Heading into the spring, he’ll sit behind one of the more underrated ’27 goalies in Boston University commit Ben Watson—a situation that could help accelerate his development despite being stuck behind him for two years.
