Althouse is one of the top uncommitted Maryland public school prospects, and while he’s listed as a FOGO, he’s anything but a typical faceoff-only specialist. Early in his career, he proved he can impact the game as an offensive player too, scoring 30 goals as a freshman attackman while a senior handled most of the draws. That background shows up every time he touches the ball—teams can’t treat him like a “FOGO” guy because he’s a legitimate scoring threat.
He dominated his Montgomery County slate, winning 67% at the stripe and earning First Team All–MCLCA honors. He’s explosive to the whistle and does a great job generating clean, forward wins that immediately create transition chances. When battles get scrappy, he has excellent awareness to move the ball in the direction of his wide-open wings. With his size, athleticism, quick hands, and finishing ability, Althouse makes a high-upside Maryland prospect whose value extends beyond the faceoff X.
