Good things happen when the ball finds Mondiello’s stick: he’s unselfish and decisive, making the right read every time and showing a great understanding of spacing and how to work off-ball. Possessing a snappy release and excellent hands, Mondiello is deceptive and diverse with his fakes and release points. He was the headliner of a heavy contingent of eighth graders for Long Island Lutheran’s varsity roster last spring, racking up 50 goals and 48 assists while dazzling against older competition. I loved what I saw out of him as he helped the Team 91 LI Venom 2028’s to a title at IMLCA and am looking forward to seeing what kind of impact he makes for Manhasset for the next four years.
