His size, patience, and willingness to use any part of his body allow Naholnik to stone shots at close range. Despite his imposing frame, Naholnik has repeatedly displayed that he owns the athleticism and speed to pounce on loose balls and hustle for chases. Once the ball is in his stick, Naholnik’s smartly placed clearing passes often produce transition scoring chances for his team.

Additionally, he tracks perimeters shooters well and has shown extreme poise when facing shots at close range. Naholnik’s quick, but controlled drops enable him to stop low shots too. On the rare occasion where Naholnik does not make a clean save, he does a fantastic job of scrambling to cover the loose ball or to get into position to make a save on the rebound shot. Once the ball is in his stick, Naholnik makes smart and timely decisions with his clearing passes. As a bonus to his goalie skills, Naholnik owns the athleticism and speed to push the ball up field himself.
