MacKinnon is a stock rising face off specialist with a quick reaction time, remarkable mechanics, and an incredible burst. Those assets make it possible for MacKinnon to execute clean pick-n-pops and then sprint down field to create a fast break scoring chance. With his polished stick skills, MacKinnon is a threat to shoot or distribute on the run. On face off wins where he charges deep into the opposing defense, MacKinnon is a master at protecting his stick with his body and thus maintaining possession in heavy traffic.
