In Westfield’s narrow 11-10 victory against Bridgewater-Raritan in the North Jersey Group 4 semifinals, the Leading Edge product connected on three goals and tallied an assist as well, showing that he can be dependable in a close and intense battle, while also being effective with the capability to use either hand. Smith has displayed the quickness to cleanly beat his matchup with an array of dodges at his disposal and with his hands free and his head up, he can be a threat from anywhere on the field.

He does a lot of damage behind the cage. As a dodger, defenders are left clueless on how to guard him because he can shake you with his change of direction, and he’s a threat to score or feed with both hands. When he gets to goal-line extended, he can lean into his defender to get a shot off, inside roll you, or beat you up the hashes. Finishing-wise, he’s very good at faking to move goalies and finishing into the open net. Off the ball, he’s great at timing cuts in front of the net. Behind the net, he understands how to fade to force rotations and sneak the pipe to get easy finishes.
