Eric Bretz | Prep Lacrosse Scout
St. Augustine Prep will be looking to get back to the Non-Public Group A tournament again this season and it all starts with its stud attackmen bound for Delaware. The 6-foot, 200-pound lefty is set to be a force to be reckoned with this season after leading his team in goals (43), assists (20), and points (63) as a junior. Plenn is a strong dodger and plays with a certain physical presence that makes defenses not want to match up with him. He is strong enough to absorb stick checks and weak body contact on the way to the net, so if you are thinking of sliding on him, be well-prepared. One of his best qualities is that he keeps his head up, always looking for an open teammate if he’s unable to beat his matchup. Accompanied by a powerful dodge is his powerful shot, and he has proven that he doesn’t need much space to be a threat. He has a hard, accurate shot and changes planes to keep goaltenders guessing. The Delaware-bound 3-star helped his team advance to the Non-Public Group A semifinals where the Hermits eventually lost to Seton Hall Prep in a 18-4 drubbing in which Plenn tallied a goal. After the year, he earned himself 1st Team All Non-Public honor.
