Vardaro was a big reason why the Friars were able to shut down Chaminade’s offense once again. He set the tone right away with a caused turnover on the opening possession. And Vardaro physically dominated his matchup. There was no leaning into Vardaro, as his strength and positioning were too much to handle. After getting beat once for an impressive goal, he made sure it wouldn’t happen again. His on-ball defending was as good as it gets and he was a lockdown defender for the majority of the game.
