Kolin the Navy commits dodging created problems for South Side all game. His first goal came off a crisp alley dodge and low finish, and his second was nearly identical, showing his ability to beat defenders 1v1 consistently. He also added an assist on a fast break and was involved in several other quality offensive sequences. Kolin’s blend of speed and toughness helped break down South Side’s defensive structure.

Kolin, a Navy commit, recorded 29 goals and 10 assists last season. Though undersized, he is quick, shifty, and capable of beating any defender 1v1. For a strong Manhasset team loaded with talent, I expect him to draw the pole every game.

Before we get into all the great defensive players for the Indians, we have to start with the brilliance of Daniel Kolin. The Indians needed to find ways to score, and Kolin delivered a hat trick in this playoff matchup. Kolin’s lacrosse IQ and athleticism would shine in his first goal of the game to help the Indians cut the early deficit to one. Kolin recognized that most of the Trojan defense flowed over to a Manhasset player on the near side of the field, and when Kolin caught the ball at X, he noticed all the open space on the backside and sprinted past his defender for a finish on the run. He strung together a bunch of dodges in this game that helped flow the offense and create opportunities. But his second goal would come in a zone offense set. Garden City sprinkled in a zone, and Manhasset went to a 1-4-1 set. After banging the ball to the wing, Kolin snuck around from X and put away a quick finish on the crease to give the Indians the 5-3 lead. His final goal was a play that your star needs to make. After eating three minutes of clock on offense, Kolin dodged hard down the alley and cashed in off a jump shot with a defender all over him.

Not a ton of bright spots for Manhasset in this one, but Kolin is clearly a special athlete and player. The Navy commit scored Manhasset’s first goal of the game. Isolating on Penn State commit Mark McNamara Mark McNamara Mark McNamara 6'6" | D Darien | 2025 #110 Nation CT , Kolin used a quick right-to-left split dodge from X to separate. His acceleration out of the dodge was eyebrow-raising. No sooner had he changed directions, than he was at GLE scoring a goal with a snap shot from a sharp angle. Kolin was used all over the field by Manhasset – he even attempted a few faceoffs to try and stem the tide at that spot. Darien’s close defenders are all tall and rangy with very good footwork. To leave any one of them in the dust is no easy task, but Kolin showed very well.

Manhasset graduates a lot on offense but will bring back a star within Daniel Kolin on offense. After a breakout sophomore year with a state champion Indians team, Kolin has established himself as one of the top 2025 prospects. Kolin is very quick and explosive out of his dodges, as he blew by defenders throughout his sophomore year. With his elite athleticism, you can expect him to cause havoc for the opposing defense and he can have a big year setting up his teammates. Kolin has the versatility to be a threat as an attackman or a midfielder. With the senior firepower gone from last year, look for Kolin to be the guy for ‘Set.
