While making his biggest impact as an off-ball playmaker for St. Xavier, he grew into a key cog of that offense and ended the spring with 36 points off 25 goals and 11 assists. He is at his best when working from the midfield spot as a dodger as he knows how to get to space for a look on cage or draw the slide for a feed to a teammate. He put up 90 points off 53 goals and 37 assists during his sophomore spring. But he still produced and shown a lot of promise that he can be an elite playmaker for an elite team in Kentucky. Gumer has played both ways and been successful, knowing how to cause havoc on defense and work within the settled offense. He is very good as a dodger who can get downhill and shoot on the run. Passing and moving off-ball have been two more areas where Gumer has thrived. Wheeler moves very well with or without the ball in his stick, constantly make decisions that put him in the right spot to make a play. The lefty is a balance playmaker who is dangerous in all facets. Having put together a stellar sophomore campaign for the Manual Crimsons last spring, Dye made an impact on both offense and defense as well as at the faceoff dot.
