Last week the Kentucky lacrosse scene descended upon Shelbyville and Collins High School for what was the first-ever final four under the KHSAA umbrella.

The last four teams standing in the Bluegrass were South Warren out of the first region, Trinity out of the fourth region, South Oldham out of the sixth, and Woodford County out of the eighth. Each of those were reigned as champions of their respective regions.

We've taken a look at semifinalists South Warren and Woodford County, as well as runner-up South Oldham. Now it's time to wrap things up by diving into the state champion Trinity Shamrocks.

Under the guise of Pete Schroeder, Trinity has developed into one of the premier blue bloods in the state of Kentucky since the programs inception in 2001. A year ago the Shamrocks ended the "non-sanctioned era" of Kentucky high school lacrosse on top as champions of KSLL, defeating South Oldham for that title. One year later and it was the Shamrocks and Dragons once again battling for a championship but this time under the KHSAA umbrella. Trinity prevailed after a slow start to capture that inaugural KHSAA title by a score of 12-8. Trinity took down the Dragons 16-7 earlier in the year, as well.

En route to capturing the inaugural KHSAA championship, the Shamrocks ran through the fourth region tournament with blowout wins over Eastern and KCD. Trinity then snipped Collegiate in blowout fashion in the first round of the state tournament before their principal meeting with arch rival St. Xavier in the state quarterfinals. Having fallen to the Tigers 12-9 on the road earlier in the season, the Shamrocks stepped back onto the field at Brother Thomas More Page, C.F.X Stadium and flipped the script from the regular season meeting, toping the Tigers 11-9 in a wire-to-wire victory.

While it was a hard-fought rivalry win that punched their ticket to the final four, the Shamrocks had an easier time advancing to the title game as they defeated first region champion South Warren 19-0 in the semifinals. That win set up the championship rematch with South Oldham that Trinity would take in their favor last Wednesday.

Trinity ended the season with a 15-7 record overall and being 13-1 versus Kentucky competition. That Shamrocks squad was headlined by an offense that averaged 13.8 goals per game while being led by two of the most consistent scorers in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='20799' first='Logan' last='Bryant'] and [player_tooltip player_id='31912' first='Noah' last='Hollister'].

Faceoff man Braden Antle and goalie Adam Wickel filled some of the Shamrocks' biggest holes entering the season and proved to be more than comparable answers at those spots. Jacksonville-bound [player_tooltip player_id='20498' first='Sam' last='Alexander'] continued to be a unicorn through the end of the season and helped headline a defense that saw much growth from game one through the title matchup.

Here is a look at those players who stood out the most as headliners for the state champion Shamrocks:

Bryant has been a key offensive playmaker for the Shamrocks each of the past few seasons and 2025 was no different. The focal point of Trinity's offense, Bryant consistently put skills on display as an elite dodger who knows how to get downhill and be a playmaker as both a scorer and feeder. Bryant led the state with 82 goals on the year. He also dished out 37 assists for a grand total of 119 points on the year, which was good for second in the state. Bryant heads north in the fall to play his college ball for Fairfield.

A premier goal-scorer who consistently showed throughout his high school career an ability to get to the cage, Hollister will head to the Sunshine State to play for Lynn next year. Hollister put himself on full display with five goals in the championship game. He ended the season second in Kentucky in goals with 76 on the year. A solid feeder as well, Hollister recorded 40 assists this spring for a total of 109 points during his senior season.

Alexander has been on the radar in Kentucky for multiple years now and has cemented his legacy as one of the most versatile players seen in the state in a while. As an LSM, the future Jacksonville Dolphin has shown to be a solid lockdown defender when needed as well as a great wing man on faceoffs, and offensive threat in transition and settled sets. His one goal in the state title game helped take the wind out of the sails of the opposition as they tried to comeback late. He had 15 goals and 11 assists for 26 points this season as a senior.

Antle will be staying in the Bluegrass and heading to Lexington to play his college lacrosse at Transylvania. Serving as the primary faceoff man for the Shamrocks as a senior, he filled the role very well and constantly helped give Trinity that needed possession advantage.

Back in early March, Wickel and the Trinity defense didn't have the greatest start to the year. But as the season went on Wickel settled into that starting role in between the pipes and thrived. He, perhaps, saved his best performance for last as the senior made nine saves with a 52% save percentage. Wickel will head to play his college lacrosse at Holy Family in Philadelphia next year.
