About Dylan
Expert Analysis
Carey Smith | Prep Lacrosse Scout
On Thursday, Sanderson worked as the quarterback of the Hill Academy offense. He found the back of the net three times and handed out a truckload of assists. The Providence commit was especially effective when he operated from X. From behind the net, Sanderson dodged for goals and used his field vision to feed open cutters. His ability to thread dimes through small windows was extraordinarily impressive. The trifecta of positioning skills, hand-eye coordination, and shooting touch that Sanderson displayed on his quick-stick goal right before the 3rd quarter buzzer was remarkable.

The righty has put together an outstanding summer in the box, racking up 126 points through 37 games. His playmaking ability jumps off the stat sheet with 86 assists in the OJLL, a testament to his elite vision and unselfishness. On the field, those same skills translate seamlessly. Teammates trust him in tight spaces, knowing he can handle tough passes inside and use his deception to move goalies and finish plays.
Sanderson also has a knack for delivering in big moments. On August 11th, he buried the overtime winner against Whitby in Game Six to help the Northmen capture the Iroquois Trophy. While he stands at just 5’7”, his creativity, poise, and consistent production make him a player you can’t overlook. His ability to generate offense in multiple ways ensures he’ll continue to be a threat at the next level.

Originally a ’25 recruit, Sanderson has been a mainstay on Hill’s offense for a few years now, having dazzled as an underclassman. Unbeknownst to the media and public alike, he’s been a Providence commit for about a year. When it comes to his skill set, it’s hard to put it in a box, as he’s super gifted and well-rounded. His vision, field sense, and IQ are sky-high, and while this isn’t a one-for-one comparison by any means, he’s made some Jeff Teat-esque plays whenever I’ve evaluated Hill. He had a brilliant start against Calvert Hall, having a hand in the Pride’s first four goals of the game with two each in goals and assists. There will be a year in between, but Providence will bring in a guy who can feed it like Ryan Bell has during his tenure with the Friars.
