Nurry’s meteoric rise as a recruit has been well-documented, but as a refresher, he was originally an under-the-radar Class of 2024 recruit (compared to his peers), committing to Cornell a few days into September before ultimately deciding to bump back to the ’25 class. Winning yet another Delaware state title and Player of the Year honors, the Avondale, Pa. native was lights-out as a Salesianum (Del.) senior. Nurry faced a much higher level of competition as a Loomis postgrad and was habitually the most dominant player of the field, posting 50 goals and 34 assists and garnering NE West I Attackman of the Year honors. An electric playmaker, Nurry kept defenses on their toes with his change-of-direction and relentless dodging style, as well as his downright nasty shooting release. He plays within himself at all times and has a knack for making the players around him better. In the coming days, we’ll get to see Nurry on the international stage as a member of U.S. U-20 team. Heading into his freshman year at Cornell, the No. 6 overall recruit has ‘instant impact’ written all over him and will arrive at the perfect time.

Nurry has developed as well as any attackman in the class, going from an under-the-radar ’24 recruit to one of the very best offensive prospects in the country. He’s been on an absolute tear as a postgrad at Loomis, where he’s shown a penchant for taking over games with his outside shot and dodging prowess. Nurry has a full bag of tricks with the ball in his stick and makes his teammates better with his play. With multiple Big Red starters set to graduate later this month, Nurry could make an instant impact and settle in for years to come.

It was a luxury for Loomis Chaffee to add the services of Nurry, a postgrad out of Delaware’s Salesianum School, where the Cornell commit won a state championship each year he was on varsity. He didn’t originally plan on taking a PG year and committed to Cornell a few days into 9/1 as a ’24 before opting for the extra year, which will be beneficial for all parties involved. I’m not sure there’s a 2025 recruit that has raised their stock as much as Nurry, who has put himself among the very best attackmen in the class.
On Saturday, he built chemistry with his new teammates and fit right in as a dangerous and dynamic presence, working at attack alongside Georgetown signee

and Dartmouth recruit Milki Conway-Reppert. What works in Loomis’ favor is that there are a lot of similarities between what Nurry provides and what recent graduate Nathan Cobery — one of the better players to come out of the program —did for the Pelicans. Nurry dodges with power and aggression, but he’s also incredibly slick and explosive and can bang shots from range.
