Cogan is the complete package offensively. Coming from a box lacrosse background, Cogan brings unique skills to the field, using his ability to dodge off his shoulder through contact and placing his shots with pinpoint accuracy. Box lacrosse players often have a natural advantage in the field game due to their experience in tight spaces and their comfort with a smaller net, which makes transitioning to a 6×6 goal a significant advantage. Cogan exemplifies this advantage with his exceptional finishing ability around the crease and his quick release, particularly in man-up situations. Standing at 6’2″, he uses his frame to create separation and get his hands free while on the run, making him a difficult matchup for defenders. Cogan’s powerful shot and precise wrist control traits honed in box lacrosse allow him to rip shots from anywhere on the field. His shooting ability is reminiscent of Ryan Brown, and his high lacrosse IQ makes him a dynamic offensive weapon. Playing for the historic West Genesee program, which has won 15 state championships since 1981, Cogan is poised to be the next elite offensive player in a long line of top-tier talent. With his skill set, I believe Chace has the potential to lead West Genesee back to the New York State Championship and cement his place as one of the state’s premiere players.
