About Baxter
Expert Analysis
Troy Gargiulo | Prep Lacrosse Scout
Baxter has continued to build on an impressive career resume during his junior season, compiling an astonishing 49 goals and 40 assists. Often the best athlete on the field, his sheer speed and relentless motor make him a threat from end line to end line. He projects as a SSDM at the next level as his athleticism, competitiveness and toughness are off the charts. As an Army commit, those attributes should marry well with the mindset expected at a service academy. Along with other talented offensive players on the Webb squad, Baxter will look to lead his team to another state title on Friday.

You’d be hard-pressed to find many Class of 2026 prospects who can match Johnson’s blazing speed. A promising young middie who doubles as a standout running back, he plays with pure grit and relentless competitiveness — perfectly fitting for a service academy commit and the son of a former Army lacrosse player. With exceptional hips and footwork, Johnson has the key traits of a future college SSDM. At this level, he’s tough to stop once he puts his foot in the ground, and his athleticism and motor are always on display. Racking up 53 goals and 42 assists last spring, Johnson’s upside is even more exciting to think about now that has the opportunity to play under longtime Cortland head coach Steve Beville, who took the Webb job this past summer.
