[player_tooltip player_id='28874' first='Jack' last='DiMaio'] is the kind of player everyone roots for. Named a captain for his senior season at Gonzaga, he also received the Erik Kristensen Man for Others Award and will honor that legacy by wearing #29 this spring. He is the type of gamer you want on your side and does all the things you want in your SSDM.

In one-on-one matchups, DiMaio is tough to beat. He has great feet to shadow dodgers and hard crosschecks without lunging to challenge his matchups. He isn't afraid to get his hands dirty, often coming up with tough ground balls and making hustle plays that get his sideline juiced. What really stands out is his ability to push the tempo. DiMaio ignites transition better than most, turning stops into fast breaks with his speed and confidence handling the ball. While he primarily runs as an SSDM for Gonzaga, he has the athleticism and skill to contribute on both ends if needed.

Coming off an impressive offseason with Next Level, [player_tooltip player_id='120840' first='Wagner' last='Underwood'] continues to stand out because of his lacrosse IQ in every phase of the game. On-ball, he moves his feet exceptionally well and applies calculated pressure with disruptive, well-timed checks.

Where Underwood really separated himself this fall at the Terp Classic was in team defense and transition play. His sense of timing on doubles and rotations consistently forced turnovers and disrupted opposing offenses. In tight spaces, he stays calm and adaptive—showing off confident stick work, toe-drags, and multiple release points that allow him to spark transition. If you're a college coach looking for a defender, [player_tooltip player_id='120840' first='Wagner' last='Underwood'] has the high-level IQ and transition skill set every backline needs.

One of the biggest uncommitted standouts for Madlax at the Terp Classic was [player_tooltip player_id='174294' first='Christian' last='Wright']. Though undersized, he brings a change-of-pace style that keeps defenses constantly guessing. His first step is explosive—he can slip by defenders with ease and capitalize if slides aren't ready.

Wright is excellent at setting up matchups, baiting defenders into a check before exploding past them at full speed. Once he gets a step, his IQ takes over. He controls the pace against slides, knowing when to slow the game down to manipulate rotations or when to push tempo and attack open space. As a distributor, he shows real vision, operating like a quarterback from the dodge. This fall, he showcased that awareness with a sharp feed off an adjacent slide—an example of how he can make plays even against defenders who try to muscle him.

Cam Weber is one to keep an eye on at Gonzaga as he battles for more runs in his junior year. With his blend of size, athleticism, and feel, he plays at a speed where the game comes easy to him when he is feeling confident. Most of his goals come from getting his hands free off the dodge. He loves to go down the alley to let one go on the run or by turning the corner from GLE. The rest come off the catch, where he times his cuts well and slips into soft spots.

He's confident with both hands, whether he's letting it go on the run or stepping into a cleaner look. His release has some pop to it, and he can flat-out blow it past goalies when he gets his hands free. Around the crease, he uses fakes to move goalies and has shown he can regularly finish after he gets them moving. As he sharpens his consistency, he has the tools to grow into a full-package offensive midfielder.

[player_tooltip player_id='174197' first='Tommy' last='Straughan'] has all the tools for a bright future thanks to his size, strength, and natural physicality. The lefty defender's length immediately stands out—he gets into passing lanes off-ball and isn't afraid to go for big-time checks when matched up on-ball. That range also lets him cover ground efficiently, closing backside space and recovering without panic.

Straughan's physical presence is felt both on the island and when he slides, where he uses his frame to deliver contact without compromising positioning. In transition, he's calm and collected, moving the ball cleanly and firing darts that jumpstart clears. As he continues to fill out, expect his stock to rise as an upperclassman who leans into his strengths.

[player_tooltip player_id='174360' first='Andrew' last='Mahoney'] is a name to know for Good Counsel heading into the spring, especially if you're a coach who values long dodging and on-the-run shooting ability. He first popped on my radar at the Nike National All-Star Games and has only leveled up since, most recently at the IMLCA Players Summit.

Also a soccer player, he leans on his quickness and motor to impact games. He's a bit undersized, but he's efficient and clear about what he does best. You can trust him to initiate—he's very good at attacking the middle from up top and has a natural feel for getting back to his strong hand and freeing his hands for shots. He generates surprising torque on his on-the-run release for his size, and if defenses sit on his right, he's still comfortable feeding and shooting with his left.
