To close out my Maryland 2027 Series, I'm spotlighting a handful of uncommitted players I'm excited to see more of this spring—names we're tracking closely ahead of our next update to the state rankings and Watchlist. Each has the foundation to carve out a role and ultimately find a home at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='121178' first='Logan' last='Yousefi'] could really make a name for himself this spring at Gilman. He's a crafty lefty who can play attack or run with the midfielders. He's got that high-pocket game with fakes, toe drags, and that hold seems to get him out of scrums when defenders have him dead to rights. With the ball, he's creative and shifty, using tempo and direction changes to free his hands. He always seems to get to dangerous spots on the field, and when you pair that with his snappy, quick release, defenses have to be ready. Off the ball, his quickness gives him a real advantage; he cuts hard and finds plenty of dunk chances near the crease.

[player_tooltip player_id='173684' first='Leo' last='Reinecker'] has the tools to make a real name for himself at Spalding and for college coaches watching. He's athletic and deceptive, possessing the potential to be a true scoring threat. As a dodger, he mixes tempos and changes posture effectively, which makes him unpredictable. Defenders hate being stuck on an island with him, and he keeps both sliders and goalies guessing on what his next move will be. Inside, he has steady hands and finishes in tight spaces with confidence. His athleticism shows on the other end of the field, where he goes all out on ground balls and holds his own defensively. At Spalding, he'll need to earn his minutes, but he's got the skill set to get himself on the field and onto college radars.

College coaches searching for a player who makes a difference between the lines should take a hard look at [player_tooltip player_id='174097' first='Cameron' last='Frank']. He owns that part of the field and makes his presence felt through nonstop effort and raw athleticism. Over the summer, he was a force on the wings—always around the ball, always winning the scrappy plays off faceoffs that swing momentum. In the fall, he was an edge rusher on the football field, and that background is evident in how he hunts down dodgers and throws his body into contact. He loves to press out, disrupt, and chase down plays that most guys give up on. His stick in transition still needs polish, but it's reliable, and he doesn't try to do too much.

[player_tooltip player_id='123906' first='TJ' last='Flanagan'] made a strong impression this fall with his ability to beat defenders off the dodge and operate confidently inside. At the IMLCA Players Summit, he took on the role of dodger and feeder for Team America, thriving as a creator who reads defenses well. He loves to dodge and kick when a slide comes, or dodge and shop for open cutters when the defense does not pressure out on him. He's comfortable using both hands and has a good feel for wrapping feeds around defenders, which helps him skip it through the defense. With the Annapolis Hawks, he worked mostly inside, timing his cuts well around the crease, and came up with a lot of one-timers as a result. Going into the spring, I expect him to level up his game even more. He's hungry for college attention, and that mix of confidence and experience should make him one to watch closely.

If you're searching for a true junkyard dog at SSDM, start with a Maryland public school—and [player_tooltip player_id='165895' first='Chase' last='Griner'] is a perfect example of that blue-collar brand. He takes pride in matching up with opposing midfielders outside of the box and making every dodge a battle. He's hard to shake, using disciplined footwork and strong positioning to stay in front and force dodgers into bad spots. In transition, he's athletic enough to run through pressure and shed double teams from attackmen, staying calm and playing within himself as he crosses the midline.

To close out my Maryland 2027 Series, I'm spotlighting a handful of uncommitted players I'm excited to see more of this spring—names we're tracking closely ahead of our next update to the state rankings and Watchlist.
