Few programs in the Northeast develop, evaluate, and elevate talent quite like 2Way Lacrosse, and the 2Way Black 2028 team stands out as one of its most complete and competitive groups the 2Way program has ever had. While the club's legacy is well established, this particular team has begun carving out its own identity, one built on toughness, tempo, and a rare depth of high-end players across every position.

2Way Lacrosse first emerged in 2012 as a small camp in Simsbury, CT, and later, in 2014, evolved into a club program with a single roster and a long-term plan for sustainable growth. Team practices held at Brunswick School in Greenwich, CT, the club has become a fixture in the Northeast, known for its steady expansion and unwavering standards. The addition of 2Way North in 2016, along with the newly added 2Way Elm City (New Haven County, CT), opened the door for athletes across Connecticut, helping the program develop one of the strongest talent pipelines in the area. The club's foundation traces back to David Earl, former Notre Dame captain, two-time All-American, and 2014 Team Canada gold medalist, whose commitment to culture and character remains central to 2Way's identity. The core values of working hard, staying humble, and bleeding blue continue to guide everything the club does.

That foundation has produced a long list of standout alumni, including two-time national champion and All-American defenseman Will Donovan (Notre Dame), Team USA midfielder Rhett Chambers (Providence), and many other Division 1 standouts, including Hunter Spiess (Princeton), Peter Moynihan (Yale), and Casey Quinson (Colgate). Many have gone on to compete at the highest college levels, and better yet, many have returned to support the program as young coaches/mentors and reinforce the standard for the next generation.

The 2Way Black 2028 team is emerging as one of the brightest examples of what the program strives to build. Their combination of Division I athleticism, advanced IQ, and competitive maturity gives them a profile rarely seen at this age group. They are coached by an elite staff led by former 4-time All-American at Hartwick College and Hartwick Hall of Famer Vin DeGregorio, whose coaching experience helps shape the team's toughness and defensive expectations. He is joined by Mike Velez, a former head coach at Choate Rosemary Hall and current coach at Westminster, whose player-development background adds important layers of structure and detail. Founder David Earl brings his college and professional expertise to the field as an assistant coach at Brunswick. Spencer DeRosa, head coach and founder of the lacrosse program at Valhalla High School, rounds out a staff built to elevate players in every phase of the game.

This group has already backed up its talent with results. Their ability to dictate tempo, win between the lines, and play with playoff-level physicality separates them from many teams in their age bracket. What truly defines this roster, however, is its depth. Last year, 2Way 2028 finished as the No. 3 ranked team in North America, posting a 25-9 record across the Fall 2024 and Summer 2025 seasons. They followed that up with an undefeated 7-0 run this fall, outscoring seven nationally ranked opponents by a combined margin of 71-33, elevating them to the No. 1 ranking in North America for the 2028 class.

2Way Black 2028 enters its recruiting year as one of the premier teams in the class. This group is expected to be one of the most sought-after teams on the circuit and will draw heavy attention from top college coaches between now and September 1st.

Will Niejadlik is one of the premier players in the 2028 class. He plays with exceptional body control, using his strength and his ability to manipulate defenders to consistently create advantages. With elite speed and explosive change of direction, Niejadlik can run by virtually anyone and generate offense from any spot on the field. He is a natural scorer who finishes effortlessly with both hands, routinely finding ways to put the ball in the back of the net regardless of the angle or pressure. When he's not scoring, he showcases high-level vision, hunting space, moving defenders, and delivering precise feeds through tight windows. On top of this, he is a menace in the riding game, with comparisons to the "Kavanagh brothers' tenacity and effort. After putting up 80+ points as a freshman at Rye High School, shattering the freshman program record, Niejadlik has firmly established himself as the type of attackman every college coach is looking for.

[player_tooltip player_id='124043' first='Austin' last='Tuttle'] is a 6'2” attackman who already plays the game with elite skill and an advanced understanding well beyond his age. He is consistently the smartest player on the field, using his positioning, both on and off the ball, to create advantages for himself and his teammates. With the ball in his stick, Tuttle is a powerful and purposeful dodger who can break down defenders and score from multiple spots on the field. He brings a heavy outside shot and is equally dangerous as an interior finisher, making him a matchup problem at all levels. Off-ball, he is relentless, constantly moving, communicating, and disrupting defensive schemes. A natural leader whose energy and presence elevate the entire group, Tuttle has already proven himself by starting for Brunswick as a freshman and stands out as one of the top attackmen in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='171316' first='Colton' last='Bergey'] is the kind of player every offensive coordinator wants running the show. Operating as the quarterback at X, he controls possessions with a high-level IQ and a calm, confident decision-making presence. Bergey creates efficiently from behind the cage, using elite vision to hunt skip lanes and deliver high-difficulty feeds with precision. As a finisher, he is as reliable as they come, his inside handles are exceptional, and he's never afraid to take an extra step to improve his angle, even if it means absorbing contact. He plays with a fearlessness around the crease that consistently puts pressure on defenses. In the ride, Bergey is relentless, using his effort, physicality, and tenacity to generate second-chance opportunities for the offense.

Luke Mullen plays with a natural scorer's instinct and a relentless drive to get to the net. He is an extremely shifty dodger with a quick first step, operating at his best from behind the cage but showing equal comfort and effectiveness when initiating from the wing. Mullen consistently gets to dangerous spots on the field, using his change of pace and craftiness to create separation and high-quality chances. He is coming off an impressive sophomore season in which he finished fifth in points across Long Island, showcasing his ability to perform at a high level against strong competition. Now at Avon Old Farms, Mullen looks poised to make an immediate impact and generate serious noise in the Founders League this spring.

Gavin Topor brings a powerful downhill presence matched by very few players in his class. He is an explosive dodger who is extremely difficult to stop when attacking head-on, using a rare blend of strength and speed to overwhelm defenders. Gavin's athleticism allows him to excel at both midfield and attack, giving his team tremendous versatility in how they deploy him. He consistently creates separation with his first step and physicality, opening up clean shooting windows from multiple angles. With his hands free, he can unleash heavy, accurate shots with either hand, generating velocity that stands out even among top players in the class. Whether shooting lefty or righty, time and room, or on the run, McGinty consistently finds ways to put the ball in the back of the net and shows smooth finesse when the situation calls for it. His shooting range and versatility make him one of the most dangerous midfield scorers in his class. Just as important, McGinty is a relentless competitor, fearless, physical, and fully committed to doing whatever it takes to help his team. He brings an energy and toughness that elevates everyone around him. Look for McGinty to pop off the page the most in between the lines, showing off elite speed and change of direction, allowing him to be an instant early offense creator. Defensively, he has the footwork and physicality to guard top midfielders in the class, while offensively, he operates as a catalyst, jumpstarting possessions and consistently making the right decisions. With the ball in his stick, Doherty plays with poise and reliability, giving coaches and teammates complete confidence that will create positive outcomes. His ability to contribute in every phase makes him one of the most complete midfielders in the age group. Bartolotta excels at attacking the first slide, either beating it outright or manipulating it to open high-quality opportunities for his teammates. With his head always up, he reads defensive movements early and uses his strong field vision to deliver timely feeds or keep the offense in rhythm.
