Let's head to New York and get to know some under-the-radar players in the classes of 2027 and 2028:

If you're looking for a disruptive player, Sohngen is that guy. He neutralizes top midfield threats, uses his reach to his advantage, and disrupts offensive flow with poise. His football background adds a level of physicality, field awareness, and aggressiveness to his playing style that many athletes his age don't have. As a contributor to fast breaks and lockdown defense, you're going to want to keep an eye out for Sohngen this fall and beyond. All in all, he's gritty, disruptive, and great at picking up ground balls. He's equal parts defense and transition specialist.

Ranking in the Top 15 in goals among New York Class C, Chambers knows how to find the back of the net and is aggressive, consistent, and accurate. He possesses an offensive mindset beyond his years, finding scoring opportunities with scrappy plays and hustle. Chambers carries confidence around the crease, but he's not just a finisher; he facilitates plays. He's great off the ground, creating scoring opportunities, and ultimately thrives during transition plays.

Witherow is a reactive netminder with resilience, quick reflexes, and strong communication skills. More importantly, he communicates well with his defense. He has a good head on his shoulders and solid lacrosse fundamentals. With a little more experience, he has the potential to become a high-impact goalie. Witherow has pops of high-level shot-stopping ability and can read shooters well. His style leans towards positional discipline, something that could be super useful on any roster in the making.

Weber is not just any midfielder; he can also step in and face-off when necessary. One thing that stands out is his strong wrists, contributing to success at X and a good clamp technique. He has lightning-fast reactions, core strength that allows him to win possessions, and a scrappy and relentless mindset. Weber excels in transition play from offense to defense, reading plays, and making on-the-fly decisions. He's got a motor that doesn't quit. He possesses highly valued skill sets that enable him to keep pace with the fast-paced play of today's club competition.

With strong 1-on-1s, timely slides, and off-ball play, Briscoe does a lot of things well as a lefty with a high lacrosse IQ and defensive presence. The advantage of being a left-handed player allows him to maintain stick-to-body contact better than his right-handed counterparts. Another asset is his strong comfort level in pushing the ball upfield after turnovers and his contribution to fast breaks. The disruptive style he brings to the turf helps him rack up wins on ground ball battles from the wing once the whistle blows. Briscoe is disciplined, adaptive, effective, and team-oriented, locking down dodges and sparking transition.

Poised under pressure with his head always on a swivel and a relentless mindset, Pilato is a highly coachable individual with strong communication skills already. He holds down solid defensive coverage, wins 50/50 balls, and shuts down top threats on the opposing team. His on-ball pressure, footwork, body position, and stick checks take him the extra mile when watching as a spectator. He's vocal with the people around him and plays a key role in fast breaks and clears. His quick rotations are vital. He does the dirty work and truly is an asset to his team.
