Below is a review of five talented 2027 prospects from Pennsylvania (and beyond) who are flying under the radar right now.   College coaches need to stop sleeping on these players and add them to the recruiting white board in their office immediately.       This athletic and fleet footed LSM is a ground ball machine. It does not matter if he is charging in from the face off wing, pursuing a loose ball on the perimeter or going after a GB in traffic, Gundel will secure possession of the rock for his squad. Once he has scooped up the ground ball, Gundel uses his speed to clear the ball and push the fast break. On defense, Gundel is a high IQ and gritty LSM with textbook technique. He applies relentless pressure to ball carriers by constantly working their hands and stick. Gundel will also not hesitate to jar the ball lose via body checks. Two other assets that pop for Gundel are his communication skills and ability to navigate over / through screens.        Back in June, Henne played a significant role in SSA's run to the 3A state tournament semifinals. He used the momentum from that state tourney success as a springboard for a fantastic summer on the club circuit. Henne is an extraordinarily quick and shifty prospect who can blow past the initial defender in a flash. His stutter step and spin moves are especially effective at getting Henne into open space for a shot or well-timed pass on the run. Henne can also unleash powerful step downs from up top. Additionally, Henne has proven that he can generate offense at attack too. On the wing Henne has thrived when he sweeps over the top and rips at full speed. From X, Henne can use his change of direction skills to lose his defender and then come around the corner for a goal.       Stashed in northeast Pennsylvania is this athletic two-way midfielder with tremendous upside. During the 2025 high school season McPartland scored 48 goals and dished out 28 assists. Those impressive stats earned him a 1st Team All-Wyoming Valley Conference selection. McPartland is an elusive prospect with a quick first step and a deep bag of moves. With his shake and speed, McPartland excels in 6v6 action as he can create shooting opportunities for himself or draw a slide and then distribute to an open teammate. McPartland is a major contributor in transition too. His ability to run through / past opposing players and his smart decision making create high percentage scoring chances on the break. In addition to his offensive skills, McPartland frequently drops back and provides a solid presence at SSDM. At the defensive end of the field, McPartland will not hesitate to take the body.          Pompeii is versatile LSM / close defender who owns a solid frame and surprising speed. When you combine those assets with his ability to press out on ball carriers as well as his crafty stick skills, you get a pole who excels at generating transition opportunities. In one-on-one situations, Pompeii has shown excellent footwork. He patiently pursues the ball and then creates turnovers with smooth poke checks and lifts. His thick base and impressive build enable Pompeii to play a physical style of defense too. He can redirect downhill dodgers by simply leaning on the offensive player. Pompeii can also move attackmen off the crease with his impactful body checks. This high IQ pole is a plus player in the clearing game too.       This versatile attack with filthy stick skills can generate offense from anywhere inside the zone. From behind the cage, O'Donnell can distribute to cutters. Or he can escape his defender and then charge around front for a high percentage shot. On the wing he can fire step downs or sweep across the defense and unleash missiles on the run. O'Donnell does a tremendous job of using a quick inside hitch move to set up his charges from the wing. He can also play on the crease where his sly off-ball movements produce easy goals in close. This skilled attack has even displayed the ability to invert and then dodge from up top. When he gets downhill from out there, O'Donnell is threat to score or distribute while on the move. As a nice bonus to his offensive skills, O'Donnell is a menace on the ride.
