Predators 2027s: Tradition, Teamwork, and Success

Since its founding in 2010, Predators Lacrosse has grown from a single Westchester-based team into one of the most respected programs in the country, now boasting over 65 boys' and girls' teams across Westchester, New York City, and Baltimore. Built on a foundation of player development, competitive spirit, and local pride, Predators has become synonymous with producing tough, fundamentally sound athletes who thrive at the next level. Its alumni include NCAA standouts and professional stars, many of whom return to coach and mentor the next generation of players.   Among the program's standout groups is Predators 2027, a team that embodies the organization's values of selflessness, adaptability, and long-term growth. Ranked No. 29 nationally with a 16-8-3 record during the Fall 2024–Summer 2025 season, this Westchester-based squad has established itself as a resilient and disciplined unit capable of competing with the best.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Club Background & History</h3>   Predators was founded by Mike McCall, a standout from Yorktown High School who played collegiately at the University of North Carolina. Driven by his love for the game and desire to create opportunities for local players, McCall launched the program's first official season in 2011–12 with a staff made up of Yorktown and Lakeland alumni. From the beginning, the mission was clear: give local players the chance to improve in a highly competitive environment, build a core group over the long term, and strategically add talent to strengthen the roster.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Notable Alumni & Legacy</h3>   Over the years, Predators has developed a strong reputation for producing high-level talent. Alumni include Coulter Mackesy (Attack, Brunswick/Princeton/Boston Cannons), Brendan Lavelle (Defense, Rye/Penn/Utah Archers), Emmet Carroll (Goalie, Rye/Penn/Maryland Whipsnakes), and Henry Grass (Attack, Bronxville/Syracuse), the all-time points leader in New York Section One. Many of these alumni give back by coaching summer camps and assisting teams, reinforcing a culture of mentorship and continuity.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Coaching & Leadership</h3>   The Predators 2027 team is led by Steve Lennon and Mike Solazzo as co-head coaches, with Tim Whiteley serving as offensive assistant. Together, they emphasize fundamentals, adaptability, and unselfish play, ensuring that every player contributes to the team's overall success.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Team Performance & Identity</h3>   While the Predators' 2027 team is still chasing its first tournament championship, the team has shown steady growth. They finished the season with a 4-0 performance at the Long Island Summer Showdown and a strong showing at The Alliance Summer Championship, going 7-1 over their last eight games, establishing momentum and proving they can compete with top programs.   The team's backbone starts at the faceoff X and in goal, with the defense anchoring the unit as a whole, giving them consistency and control in key moments. More importantly, this is a group defined by its selflessness. Players are willing to adjust roles, sacrifice personal accolades, and adapt their games to fill gaps, qualities that make them greater than the sum of their parts.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Looking Ahead</h3>   Predators 2027 stands as a reflection of everything the broader program was built to achieve: tough, unselfish, and steadily improving athletes who grow together year after year. With experienced coaching, a proven developmental model, and a legacy rooted in Westchester lacrosse tradition, this team is well-positioned to climb higher in the national rankings and continue adding to the proud history of the Predators organization.    Ryder Ettere is a pure offensive threat with an insanely high lacrosse IQ and a love for the game that sets him apart. Comfortable both at X and on the wing, he can also come out of the box to run midfield, giving him the versatility to exploit matchups all over the field. A nightmare for short-stick defenders, Ettere can dodge, feed, and shoot with confidence, whether under pressure or with time and room, and his poise makes him just as dangerous as a feeder as he is a finisher. By season's end, he emerged as a key contributor for Iona Prep's varsity squad, playing both attack and midfield to help lead the team to a state championship while proving his adaptability as a multi-position impact player. With his advanced skill set, intelligence, and competitiveness, Ettere clearly profiles as a Division I prospect with significant upside.     Alex Moskowitz is a very polished attackman in the Class of 2027, bringing a rare combination of size, skill, and versatility to both the Predators and King School. A two-time All-NEPSAC honoree, Moskowitz uses his 6'1” frame, soft hands, and ability to finish from multiple release angles to consistently put the ball in the back of the net. He is a proven shooter and finisher, tallying 75 points this past season (51 goals, 24 assists) while showing he can convert at a high level against top competition. His game is built on balance; he has the toughness to absorb contact inside, the stick skills to score in tight, and the vision to keep teammates involved. Whether dodging to create his shot or finishing plays on the crease, Moskowitz's all-around offensive presence makes him a great attackman in the 2027 class.     Frankie Ofrias is a lightning-quick attackman whose speed, shiftiness, and finishing ability make him a tough matchup for defenders. With an explosive first step, Ofrias consistently creates separation on dodges, and his excellent footwork allows him to maneuver in tight spaces and finish plays around the crease. Despite his smaller frame, Ofrias plays with toughness and has no problem taking contact, often bouncing off checks to create second-chance opportunities. His ability to “get lost in the fray” makes him difficult to track, and he capitalizes on defensive lapses with quick, decisive plays. Ofrias brings an energy and edge that keep defenses on their heels every time he touches the ball.     Charlie Brady is a fluid, multi-sport athlete who brings a rare blend of size, strength, and versatility to the field. A sophomore starter on attack at Rye High School, Brady exploded onto the scene this spring, consistently filling the stat sheet against some of the top competition in the country. With multiple release points, a very heavy shot that can stretch defenses, and the ability to finish in tight off the dodge, he poses a constant threat to defenses. He's also a high-percentage shooter, converting efficiently when he gets his opportunities. His background as a midfielder shows in his relentless ground ball work and effectiveness in the riding game. At 6'2, his combination of athleticism and IQ makes him a dynamic two-way option, and he projects as a player capable of excelling at both attack and midfield at the college level. With elite stick skills in both hands and the ability to release from every angle, Rosario is dangerous as both a scorer and a creator. He thrives in two-man game situations, where his quickness and decision-making shine, and he has earned recognition as the best riding attackman on his team thanks to his relentless energy and tenacity. A true Swiss Army knife, Rosario can play multiple positions, run an offense with confidence, and impact the game in every phase. A Showtime all-star and a Best In Class participant, he brings a competitive edge and creative spark that consistently elevates his teammates.     Reid Dutoit is a shifty lefty midfielder/attackman who brings speed, creativity, and scoring touch to the offense. Dutoit has become a consistent finisher who can get up the hash and bury shots from multiple release points. Dutoit is an excellent dodger who uses quick bursts of speed to separate, and he's equally comfortable stretching defenses with his outside shot. His hustle and competitiveness also show in the ride, where he works tirelessly to force turnovers and extend possessions. A standout All-State soccer player, Dutoit's quick footwork and conditioning translate seamlessly to the lacrosse field, giving him an added edge in matchups. With his size, athleticism, and versatility as both a scorer and rider, Dutoit has the tools to develop into a high-level offensive weapon at the next level.     [player_tooltip player_id='129606' first='Nash' last='Mayclim'] is a big, physical lefty attackman with strong instincts around the crease. He moves well off-ball, finding soft spots in the defense and creating scoring opportunities through smart positioning. At 6'2”, his size makes him a difficult matchup inside, where he can finish above the cage and absorb contact. Mayclim also contributes to ground balls, using his frame and effort to extend possessions and win tough scrums. While he's still working to improve his finishing efficiency and build on his lacrosse IQ, his combination of size, strength, and nose for the ball gives him a strong foundation to keep growing as a scorer. With continued development, Mayclim has the potential to be a reliable lefty finisher who can create matchup problems for defenses at the next level.     Theo McMurray is an elite athlete whose two-sport background makes him one of the most dynamic players in the 2027 class. A starting quarterback at Bronxville as just a sophomore and an Apex Showcase MVP, McMurray brings size, speed, and leadership to the midfield. A lefty with a lethal split dodge, he consistently gets to the middle of the field, drawing slides and creating high-quality scoring chances. McMurray is not only a capable finisher but also a dangerous feeder, able to read defenses and find teammates in stride. He was so dominant out of the midfield that the team moved him to attack, because they didn't want him to come off the field, where his dodging and playmaking immediately elevated the offense. His football experience sharpens his vision, toughness, and poise under pressure, qualities that translate directly to his lacrosse game. With his athletic ceiling, ability to initiate offense, and versatility as both a scorer and distributor, McMurray projects as a premier Division I prospect with the potential to impact the game in multiple ways.     Benny Hurewitz is one of the most dangerous shooters and overall athletes in the 2027 class, armed with a blistering shot that regularly tops 100 miles per hour. A deceptive and high-percentage finisher, Hurewitz has multiple release points and the ability to beat goalies from distance with time and room opportunities. Beyond his offensive firepower, he also brings versatility as a midfielder, capable of being a lockdown short-stick defender who can turn stops into instant transition. An offensive starter who contributes in every phase, Hurewitz plays a key role on man-up, man-down, and on the wings, showcasing his adaptability and lacrosse IQ. This all-around ability makes him a valuable asset, as he's just as comfortable scoring goals as he is defending top midfield matchups. At Don Bosco Prep, he has already carved out a role as a second-line midfielder, where he's been able to impact games on both ends of the field. With his rare shooting velocity, deceptive stickwork, and ability to contribute across all situations, Hurewitz is a complete midfielder with a skill set built for the college game.     Donny Bowler is a powerful left-handed midfielder with the size and athleticism to create constant matchup problems. A true downhill dodger, Bowler uses his 6'2” frame to attack defenders with speed and strength, getting to dangerous spots on the field and finishing with confidence. He's an excellent shooter on the run and has soft hands around the crease, making him equally effective as both a dodger and an inside finisher. Known for his extremely high shooting percentage, Bowler changes levels well, consistently keeping goalies guessing and converting at a high clip. His versatility is another asset, as he can play attack when needed, giving his coaches flexibility and making him a dual-threat offensive weapon. With his combination of size, touch, and ability to finish under pressure, Bowler projects as a high-level scorer who can contribute immediately at the next level.     George Callahan is a tall, physical left-handed midfielder who brings size, athleticism, and a team-first mentality to the field. A solid all-around athlete, Callahan thrives as a downhill dodger, using his frame and leverage to sweep hard to his left and release a heavy overhand shot on the run. His ability to generate separation and shoot with power makes him a dangerous scoring option from the outside, while his vision and poise allow him to keep teammates involved when slides come. Callahan is also known for being extremely unselfish, consistently making the right play and putting his team's success ahead of personal stats. With his combination of size, athleticism, and skill, he projects as a reliable two-way midfielder who can contribute as both a dodger and distributor in a college system.     Ryan Bracchitta is an athletic and physical midfielder whose speed and strength allow him to consistently create offense. He thrives as a dodger, using his quick first step and aggressive style to put defenders on their heels and get to dangerous scoring areas. Bracchitta has shown confidence as a sidearm shooter, able to stretch defenses when given time and space, and he continues to expand his offensive arsenal by developing multiple release points and refining his left hand in tight. He is also a threat in transition, where his athleticism allows him to push pace and apply pressure on unsettled defenses. With his size, motor, and evolving offensive toolkit, Bracchitta projects as a versatile midfielder who can generate scoring opportunities and impact the game in multiple ways.     Luke Wiese is a dynamic midfielder whose athleticism and skill make him a versatile offensive weapon. He has soft hands and a smooth stick, allowing him to handle pressure and finish plays around the crease. Wiese consistently finds ways to get to the middle of the field, where he can generate high-quality scoring opportunities for himself or draw defenders to open up teammates. An excellent feeder, he combines vision with timing, hitting cutters in stride and keeping defenses off balance. His athleticism also makes him dangerous in transition, as he can push the ball with speed and either create offense himself or set up teammates for easy finishes. With his blend of scoring ability, playmaking instincts, and natural athleticism, Wiese has the tools to be a key midfield contributor at the next level.     Marco Sethi is the backbone of the defense as a short-stick defensive midfielder, bringing toughness, grit, and discipline every time he steps on the field. A wrestler by background, Sethi plays with a bulldog mentality, leveraging his strong lower body and balance to hold his ground against dodging midfielders. His excellent positioning and ability to trail opposing players without overcommitting make him a reliable presence who can neutralize dangerous matchups. Beyond his defensive work, he's steadily improving in transition, showing poise in making the difficult outlet passes under pressure that spark offense the other way. With his toughness, athletic IQ, and growing confidence between the lines, Sethi embodies the prototype of a modern SSDM, reliable in coverage, physical in approach, and increasingly dangerous in transition.     Tyler Caricati is a standout short-stick defensive midfielder whose athletic background as a top-tier football player translates seamlessly onto the lacrosse field. With elite speed and physicality, he covers ground quickly and is relentless on matchups, making him a reliable stopper against athletic midfielders. Caricati excels on ground balls, particularly the tough first-time pickups and contested scrums on the wings, where his toughness and quickness give him an edge. Over the past year, he has made tremendous strides as an all-around defensive midfielder, improving not only his 1-on-1 coverage but also his poise in transition. He can handle pressure, make the hard passes that keep possessions alive, and spark fast-break opportunities going the other way. Already recognized for his versatility, Caricati is also destined to become Yorktown's starting FOGO next year, adding even more value to his profile as a two-way impact player. With his blend of speed, toughness, and two-sport pedigree, Caricati embodies the competitive, high-motor mentality that defines elite SSDMs.     Ryan Frank fits the mold of a prototypical Division I defenseman, combining size, length, and athleticism with a high defensive IQ. At 6'3” and 195 pounds, Frank brings a strong physical presence, yet he moves with deceptive quickness, particularly when clearing the ball off the ground. He plays angles extremely well and has excellent lateral movement, allowing him to stay balanced and composed against a wide range of matchups. Whether it's bodying up a bigger attackman or staying in front of a quicker dodger, Frank uses his length, footwork, and anticipation to beat opponents to their spots consistently. His ability to switch seamlessly between physicality and finesse makes him a versatile defender who can anchor a unit. With his combination of size, speed, and intelligence, Frank projects as a high-level prospect with the tools to thrive at the next level.     Luke Denvir is the cornerstone of the defense and one of the most promising young defenders in the 2027 class. Already standing at 6'2” with room to grow, Denvir combines elite size with physicality and exceptional defensive IQ. He thrives in one-on-one matchups, so much so that his coaches employ a firm “no-slide” rule when he's on the ball, trusting him to lock down his assignment. Denvir is just as effective off-ball, where his anticipation and positioning allow him to disrupt passing lanes and provide seamless help defense. While still developing his vocal presence, he already demonstrates strong leadership qualities, sharpened by his experience as a starter on Rye's varsity football team. A true two-sport athlete, he has some of the best stick skills on the roster, making him dangerous in transition and reliable on clears. His pedigree also runs deep, his father played tight end at Notre Dame, and Denvir carries that same mix of toughness and athleticism. Attended Showtime, Denvir is a surefire high Division I prospect with the tools to become a dominant force at the next level.     Henry Doherty is a relentless competitor and the definition of a workhorse on the defensive end. Known as an “absolute dog,” Doherty refuses to come off the field regardless of the situation, bringing toughness and grit that anchors his team's back line. He thrives in one-on-one matchups, consistently taking on and erasing opponents' top midfielders with a mix of physicality, quickness, and determination. A standout hockey player, Doherty's background on the ice has sharpened his instincts for ground balls, he consistently comes up with tough first-time GBs in traffic and immediately pushes the ball into transition to spark offense. His motor and intensity set the tone for his teammates, while his ability to stay locked in for long stretches makes him invaluable to his defense. Already a starter for Mamaroneck High School, Doherty's toughness, athleticism, and two-sport pedigree give him the makeup of a high-level prospect who will continue to elevate his game.     Sam Scully is a steady, reliable defender who combines size, IQ, and effort to make a consistent impact. At 6'1”, he has excellent footwork for his frame and uses his length and positioning to stay balanced against quick dodgers. Scully never takes a play off, especially off-ball, where his awareness and anticipation allow him to disrupt offenses and provide seamless help defense. With the ball in his stick, he is calm and efficient, rarely making mistakes and helping his team transition smoothly. Served as a starting SSDM on Rye's varsity squad this spring, Scully brings toughness and discipline while showing the versatility to defend multiple spots. A twin and a competitor who raises the level of those around him, both he and his brother project as strong college prospects with the intelligence and toughness to thrive at the next level.     Luke Scully is a disciplined and consistent defender whose size, IQ, and work ethic make him a cornerstone of the back line. At 6'1, he moves extremely well for his frame, with footwork that allows him to stay balanced and control matchups against both quick and physical opponents. Like his twin brother Sam, Luke never takes a play off, especially off-ball, where his anticipation and positioning are major assets. With the ball in his stick, he is calm and mistake-free, helping his team clear with confidence and avoid costly turnovers. Serving as a starting SSDM for Rye's varsity this spring, he brings grit, toughness, and a high lacrosse IQ to every possession. Both he and his brother are true Division I prospects who bring reliability and leadership to every defensive unit they join.     Travis Cross is a dynamic long-stick midfielder who combines athleticism, stick skills, and versatility to impact the game in multiple ways. He has a fantastic stick, excelling at picking up ground balls cleanly and turning them into instant transition opportunities. Cross times his checks extremely well, using his reach and anticipation to disrupt dodgers, dislodge the ball, and even pick off passes in the middle of the field. He thrives in the open field, pushing tempo and creating offense out of defensive stops, where his confidence and poise allow him to handle the ball like a midfielder. Just as comfortable playing up top at LSM as he is down low on close defense, Cross has the versatility to match up against a variety of opponents. He can use speed to neutralize quicker players or rely on his physicality to handle bigger matchups. That combination of skill, athleticism, and adaptability makes him one of the most valuable pieces on the defensive unit and a player who projects to thrive at the college level.     Maison Bragg is an athletic long-stick defender whose quick footspeed allows him to cover ground efficiently and stay tight on dodgers in the open field. His agility makes him effective both at LSM and down low, where he can match up with a range of opponents and force them into uncomfortable spots. Bragg excels at using his speed to close space quickly and generate pressure, often disrupting ball carriers before they can initiate offense. As he continues to refine his stick work and off-ball positioning, he has the tools to become a more complete defender and a consistent transition threat. With his athleticism, motor, and developing all-around game, Bragg also played meaningful minutes as an SSDM this summer.     Cascious Berner is the backbone of the defense and the team's top goaltender, bringing quick reflexes, consistency, and poise to the cage. A lefty goalie with excellent anticipation, Berner thrives on in-tight saves, where his quick hands and strong positioning allow him to shut down high-percentage looks. He has also proven himself as a reliable and confident clearer, consistently jumpstarting transitions with accurate outlets. This spring, Berner stepped into the spotlight as the starter for Fordham Prep's varsity team, where he took his game to another level by improving his communication and becoming more vocal with his defense. With his mix of shot-stopping ability, clearing skills, and leadership growth, Berner has established himself as a steady presence in goal and a competitor who continues to raise his game with every season.     Michael Attubato is a poised and technically sound goaltender who continues to elevate his game with every season. Known for his ability to handle low shots, Attubato consistently makes the tough stops that keep his defense confident and composed. This summer, he made significant strides in two key areas of his game: communication and clearing. Attubato has become more vocal in organizing his defense, ensuring everyone is in the right position, and his long, accurate outlet passes now serve as a reliable weapon to spark transition. At 5'11”, he combines good size with steady mechanics, giving him a strong presence in the cage. Recently reclassified to the Class of 2028, Attubato has positioned himself to refine his skills and further his development. With his continued growth in leadership and ball distribution, he is shaping into a complete goalie capable of anchoring a defense and generating momentum at the other end of the field.     Tommy Mahoney is a top faceoff specialist whose quick hands and relentless energy make him a game-changer between the lines. More than just a draw specialist, Mahoney is a complete midfielder with the ability to push the ball forward, handle it under pressure, and become an immediate scoring threat after a win. His stick skills allow him to stay on the field, where he can contribute on both offense and defense, adding a valuable layer of versatility. Mahoney consistently comes up with momentum-shifting plays, whether it's sparking transition, winning a tough 50/50 ground ball, or finishing a clutch goal. His relentless motor, toughness, and all-around skill set have made him a staff favorite, and he projects as the type of FOGO who can tilt possession battles while also impacting every phase of the game.     Matthew Todl is a fiery competitor at the faceoff X, combining size, strength, and technical precision at the X. At 6'1, he brings a physical edge to draws, using his frame to establish position while relying on his refined mechanics to consistently win possessions. Known as a “mechanic” at the faceoff spot, Todl's technique is both efficient and repeatable, allowing him to adapt to different opponents and styles. Over the past year, his biggest growth has come in his decision-making after the faceoff, whether it's pushing the ball forward, pulling it back to maintain possession, or moving it quickly into the offense. He's extremely composed and effective in transition. With his blend of size, technical ability, and improving IQ, Todl is a difference-maker at the X who can tilt possession battles in his team's favor.
