Mad Dog is Barking From Coast to Coast: More 2027s to Know

With the motto, "Run like a mad dog is chasing you", brothers Tommy and Bill Duerr founded Mad Dogs Lacrosse in 2006. What began as a summer day camp in Sea Girt, NJ, has now evolved into a nationally recognized lacrosse program with multiple teams in each age group. Since 2021, the program has sent 200+ student-athletes to top Division I programs. Who's to say these players below aren't next?    With an average of 3.1 goals per game, Barber could make waves in the college world when he tries on his Air Force jersey for the first time. He sunk 88 goals during the 2025 season and had a high number of assists to go along with it. With smooth stick transitions, roll dodges, and stutter steps that will trip anyone up, he's great from behind X but not afraid to put his body on the line when it comes to ground balls. Overall, Barber is a team player ready to get the job done at any cost.     With an almost equal number of goals and assists, Friedman is an all-around threat once he laces up his cleats. He's a physical force who is great in unsettled situations. He can push fast breaks or break down his feet in order to scoop up a ground ball. With his head on a swivel, Friedman is ready to fire one to the back of the net or rack up another assist stat. Set to transfer from Brentwood (Calif.) to Choate, he's a team player with standout communication skills and is worth looking into.     Goldman is a reliable close defender who disrupts midfield matchups with speed and reach. His stick is always at the ready for takeaways, something I really liked from his film. He anticipates passes and dodges well, closes gaps with precision, and moves with his opponent. He watches for hip movements and never allows his match-up the first step. Goldman knows his way around, simple as that. His strong positioning also puts him a step above the rest.     Finishing multiple games with a 70% save percentage, it's safe to assume that we haven't seen the half of Disarlo's potential. To dumb it down, he's a left-handed goalie with quick reflexes, strong positioning, and an overall trustworthy teammate. He's a reliable source against high-power offenses and has the ability to command a defense in times of stress.     As an SSDM, it's important to control the controllables, and Oppenlander does a great job at that. He doesn't waste possessions, uses critical thinking skills, and puts his all into every play he's part of. He battles for ground balls and uses strategic positioning to his advantage. The only things I would recommend are for him to refine his shooting placement and increase his number of assists. However, Oppenlander is a dedicated young talent who makes strides to better hmself each and everyday.     Despite DeNegri being a top lacrosse athlete, his wrestling background has given him the foundation he needed to succeed in the sport. He is constantly laser-focused on the task at hand, eager to learn, and wired for excellence. His hand speed is great for his age, along with his overall balance and body control. Not only that, but DeNegri has the necessary physical conditioning and stamina to make it through long games and tournaments without fatigue. In the end, his performances at national showcases such as Main Stage, Juniors Open, BIC, and New Balance have put him on the map. However, his performance at Showtime defines who he is as a player, ending with a win percentage of 63% (30-of-48) over the course of five total games.     If, for some reason, you miss Kaufmann's incredible wrap checks or his "will to win" mentality, you are sure to spot his bright pink lacrosse head among his peers. The stick is in support of breast cancer, a cause Kaufmann heavily advocates for. Aside from that, Kaufmann is a next-level left-handed LSM with standout agility, footwork, and leadership skills. He racks up caused turnovers like it's nobody's business and is constantly one step ahead of his component, both figuratively and literally. Kaufmann also shows high-level leadership skills both on and off the field. Lastly, he stays low on his opponent and pushes transition plays on offense, making him an important piece of the puzzle on both ends of the turf.
