Below is Part II in my review of Class of 2027 prospects who played extraordinary lacrosse on this summer's high school and club circuits.

Thus, the following players should stay close their phones on September 1st, 2025, because I believe that college coaches will be blowing them up all day.

With his amazing reaction time, polished mechanics and balance, Greene consistently won face-offs cleanly this summer. He then raced into the offensive end and created scoring opportunities for his team. But Greene did not force the action after wins. He smartly read the defense and then continued to charge the net or simply moved the ball to an open teammate for a settled possession. When things got ugly at the face off dot, Greene's instincts, leverage, and physicality enabled him to locate the ball and then secure possession. Green's grit and toughness were on display too as he frequently ran through body checks and slashes while maintaining possession. During summer 2025, Greene also proved he could adjust his approach mid-game and then execute counters on his opponents.

What popped immediately about Jacobsen's skill set is that he can wreak havoc on a defense in numerous ways. He is a versatile athlete who dodged going left or right and then shot or passed with both hands. When he initiated from the wing, Jacobsen's speed and elusive moves allowed him to sweep over the top and then fire on the run. While on the move Jacobsen found the back of the night by going top shelf and off-hip as well as via bouncers. His ability to navigate through double teams and slides for clean looks was impressive. Jacobsen also showed a knack for sliding into open space for quick release step-downs. Over the summer Jacobsen's field vision and composure produced numerous Instagram worthy assists.

This athletic and fleet footed LSM showcased extraordinary defensive instincts this summer. Mahoney was repeatedly one step ahead of the opposing offense and caused turnovers by intercepting passes or shots, slicing through passing lanes for steals, and by stripping the ball carrier. His polished footwork combined with his timely lifts, stick checks and pokes made Mahoney an intimidating on-ball defender. Mahoney was a major plus player on face-offs too. His ability to knife in from the wing and scoop up GBs was remarkable. Once Mahoney had secured possession, he frequently charged into the offensive end for a transition opportunity. Other times he smartly read the defense and then fed an outlet pass to an open teammate. Mahoney displayed his versatility by running at close defense for long stretches.

During summer 2025Nichols proved he possesses the size (205 lbs.), physical assets and skills to play goalie at a high DI program. Nichols's combination of athleticism, elite positioning skills and an active stick made him a brick wall between the pipes. The poise and understanding of shooting angles he displayed this summer was well beyond his years. His gift for tracking shooters produced clean saves all summer. With the ball in his stick, Nichols would then execute smart and precise outlet passes. His clear and consistent communication kept the defensive unit in front of him on point. The standout performances Nichols posted this summer earned him an invite to the prestigious USA Lacrosse National Team Development Program (NTDP) combine.

Riches is an electric offensive prospect with next level speed, a non-stop motor and filthy stick skills. His explosive first step and ability to cut on a dime made Riches impossible to defend 1v1. Riches played with extreme pace but was never out of control. Once Riches had blown past the initial defender, he kicked it into high gear and got to the cage in a flash. His elite stick skills enabled Riches to execute creative finishes in close. He also got downhill, then slammed on the breaks and ripped from 8-to-10 yards out. Riches kept defenders and goalies off balance with his ability to distribute on the run. College coaches will love the high IQ and patience Riches displayed in the offensive end. This summer Riches also showed that he was willing to sprint back on defense and play SSDM at a respectable level.
