<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After days of rain, the Lakeland-Panas Rebels overtook the Putnam Valley Tigers 13-7 on a sunny senior day. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the Rebels in an early lead after the whistle blew, Putnam Valley found their footing at the last second and ripped two to the back of the net, ending quarter one, 2-2. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With a head full of steam, #2 Vinny Savastano let one fly for Lakeland-Panas, upping the score to 3-2. #11 Oban Rader followed in his teammate's footsteps, putting another Rebel point on the board. #7 Dakota Bourgie from Putnam Valley wanted to show off his skills when he spotted an open #5 TJ Faragozzi, which resulted in a Tiger goal. The score then stood 5-3 with Lakeland-Panas on top. The boys were on fire. Rebel goal after Rebel goal, the minutes ticked down. The match was set at 8-3 going into halftime. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Savastano and Rader kept the momentum up for Lakeland-Panas, but the Tigers wanted their revenge. #11 Caden Glenn took his soon-to-be Division 1 football skills to the lacrosse field when he took matters into his own hands, running through the entire Rebels defense and found the back of the net. After that, a pass from Savastano to #27 Jesse DiPaola gave the Rebels the confidence they needed, ending the third quarter 10-3.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With only twelve minutes left to play, it was all or nothing. #3 Nick Martinelli from the Tigers put his name in the book when he sunk a goal in the early minutes of the quarter, making the score 10-4. We then saw Glenn's second goal of the game, followed by one from Bourgie. Putnam Valley clearly turned it up. The game eventually ended 13-7 on the Rebels' home turf. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Throughout the day's match-up, Rebels goalie #0 Dan Horaritz collected 12 saves, and Rebel face-off specialist #6 Mikey DiCioccio tallied 14 wins from the circle. Lakeland-Panas's #4 Joe Laperth had some incredible caused turnovers while #99 Dom Lemma pulled off standout lockdown defense for his team. Rader walked out of the game with four goals during regulation time. Savastano may have had the game of a lifetime, as he racked in seven points total during his time on the field; five goals and two assists. From Putnam Valley, Bourgie buried two goals, tying him with Glenn, each scoring two points. #23 Dylan Tucker is a defensive beast and certified ground ball goblin repping his blue and white Tigers jersey.
