The last four teams standing in the Bluegrass were South Warren out of the first region, Trinity out of the fourth region, South Oldham out of the sixth, and Woodford County out of the eighth. Each of those were reigned as champions of their respective regions.

Let's take a look back at the season that was for those four squads, starting with the first region champion South Warren Spartans.

South Warren ended their 2025 campaign with a 19-0 loss to eventual champion Trinity in the semifinals. The Spartans churned out an 8-6 record overall and 4-1 mark in region play. They downed Greenwood 20-3 in the first region championship before topping DeSales 21-0 and Manual 11-10 in the first and quarterfinal rounds of the state tournament.

The Spartans were headlined by youth as they had just five seniors and one junior on a roster of 24. Two of their top five scorers were sophomore and one was a freshman. South Warren's starting goalie was a sophomore while their top faceoff man was a freshman.
