Bishop Manogue Takes Down Faith Lutheran, 8-7

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Las Vegas, NV</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bishop Manogue traveled down from Reno for the weekend. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Their first matchup was last night against Faith Lutheran and they came out with the win. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They notched 2 goals in the first quarter, and went into the second quarter up 2-1 on the Crusaders. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the second quarter both defenses really settled in, and good looks were hard to come by for both teams. Then Johnny Trumball dodged down the alley and made it even at 2-2. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Milo Anderson tallied his first goal of the night early in the second half, and gave the Crusaders their first lead of the game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Crusaders didn't hold the lead for long though. As the Miners then got to work and Elijah Peterson scored. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not much later, Ulie Anderson scored his second goal of the night to make it 4-3.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>From there, the Miners kept their run going and Brady Buck made it 5-3. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the fourth quarter, the pace picked up a bit. Liam Schulz scored during a man up opportunity and it was then 5-4.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Milo Anderson then struck again and scored to make it 5-5.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>But then Zeke Peterson and Nolan Moore stepped up for the Miners and scored back to back goals. Giving them a 7-5 lead with just a few minutes to go. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ulie Anderson then added another to make it 8-5, and it looked like it was all but over.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Faith Lutheran didn't quit though, they kept hunting shots and CJ Laymon made it 8-6 with a minute left.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Crusaders then won the next faceoff and drew a penalty. Giving them a man-up opportunity.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Knowing that the Crusaders had minimal time, Milo Anderson then quickly ripped a shot from the wing, and it snuck by the Miners keeper. His first goal of the night came after the ball slipped through the defenders at the midfield line, and he promptly picked it up and took it to the house. Faking out the goalie and putting it into the back of the net. Anderson's second goal was a quick turn around shot.
