He plays with great passion and toughness, always giving 100% on his dodges to get his right hand free and fire a missile past the goalie. A tough cover for defenders, Merrill combines speed with strength, running through every stick check that comes his way. He will be the top option for a strong Friars team this year.

Ball, a faceoff specialist committed to Penn, is one of the best FOGOs on the island. He single-handedly tilts games with the number of possessions and faceoffs he wins, making him a true asset for the Flyers as they essentially regain possession after every goal. Beyond his faceoff ability, Ball is a great athlete with a strong lacrosse IQ. He'll be the top defender for Kellenberg this season, and don't be surprised to see him in the box score, as he runs the field well and creates offense. A standout basketball player in the winter, his athleticism translates well to the lacrosse field.

O'Toole, a Palm Beach Atlantic commit, is a jitterbug attackman who will give defenders trouble with his quickness. His game has evolved, allowing him to attack both sides of the cage, either to distribute or take his own shot. Though not the biggest attackman, he's fearless when driving to the cage.

The Long Island lacrosse season is right around the corner, and as always, talent is spread across the island. I'll be breaking it down into three sections, highlighting both 2025 and 2026 classes: Nassau County, Suffolk County, and the Catholic League. This time, I'm focusing on the standout players from the Catholic League in the class of 2025 who are poised for a big spring.
