The 2025 high school lacrosse season marks the beginning of a new era in the Bluegrass for the sport as it will, for the first time ever, be played under the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) umbrella.

While it will be a new era, the same expectations remain for the blue blood programs across the Bluegrass; championship or bust.

Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky has accomplished a wealth of success in athletics over its 70-plus years in existence. That success has been extended onto the lacrosse field for the past 23 years with program-founder Pete Schroder having led the Shamrocks from infancy to perennial state and regional powerhouse status.

Coach Schroder has led Trinity to over 300 wins, crossing that milestone mark last spring, and seven state championships. That includes a title last season as they took down
South Oldham to claim the final KSLL title.

At Trinity, competing for championships are an expectation each and every season. As the first year of KHSAA lacrosse nears, the Shamrocks will very much be looking to be in the mix for that inaugural crown. And the Shamrocks will likely have the talent to do just that with a good core back from last season, which includes a pair of DI-bound seniors in LSM [player_tooltip player_id='20498' first='Sam' last='Alexander'] and midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='20799' first='Logan' last='Bryant'].

Here is a look at some of those key Shamrocks to watch this spring:

The Jacksonville signee earned the KSLL Mr. Lacrosse award last spring as a junior. He enters his senior season as arguably the best and most versatile player in the Commonwealth. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound pole has a long frame and great reach. He is a strong cover man who knows how to constantly turn his man away from the cage. Alexander is also good off the ground and runs the field well, being a potential impact player in transition.

Signed to play for the Fairfield Stags, Bryant is an exciting and smart offensive playmaker from the midfield. He has the speed and has gown in his physicality to constantly make plays one-on-one from up top. The senior is a great shooter on the run and has a great feel for the game, moving well off-ball and knowing where to be and how to get himself open for quality looks on cage. He had 94 points off 54 goals and 40 assists last spring.

The 6-foot-1 lefty attackman will be heading to the Sunshine State to play for Lynn next year. Hollister tallied 61 points off 36 goals 25 points last spring. He has shown to work that right side of the field very well, showcasing himself as a strong dodger who can get his hands free for quality looks and always has his eyes up for the potential assists.

Trinity had one of the best defenses in the state of Kentucky last spring and the close defenseman Shultz was a big part of that effort. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound pole has a great frame and solid footwork. While having the ability to be impactful all over the defensive end, he is at his best as an on-ball defender with good footwork and a knack for putting the ball on the ground.

One of the biggest holes Trinity must fill from last season is at the faceoff dot with the graduation of Canton Lanham, who is now playing at Detroit Mercy. Easter could be part of that answer this spring. Also a wrestler, Easter has a very strong frame and can consistently win the clamp and gain possession himself. He has shown the IQ and ability to get his wings involved as well.

Another part of the answer at the dot for the Shamrocks this spring, Antle served as Trinity's primary backup faceoff man last season. He will head east to Lexington next year and play for Transylvania. The senior is very strong in his offensive exits. He went 69.53% last spring in the action he saw, helping to be a real spark at times.
