Bishop Gorman Wins Home Opener

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bishop Gorman won their first home game of the season on Sunday. They faced Higley of Gilbert, AZ. While it started out somewhat close, the Gaels eventually opened the game up by going on a run. Their midfielders and attackmen worked as a unit to get good looks. Higley also had a tough time gaining possession of the rock in the second half and the Gaels were able to get the ball back by riding well. He proved to have quick hands and won just about every faceoff. His anticipation skills had the Higley faceoff man frustrated and he was able to get a couple of wins off of early starts as well. A couple of his goals came off of sweep dodges, and he also had a nice take from X where he went almost untouched before putting the ball in the back of the net. I was also a fan of how he used his left hand to get one of his goals. His first goal of the day came when the Gaels were man down, and he took it most of the length of the field before letting it rip. The freshman looked confident while dodging and he was able to get his hands free for just about all of his shots. In addition to his contributions on offense, he applied some heavy pressure during rides and he forced two turnovers. He seemed to be pretty locked in once it hit the second quarter, and Higley had a tough time sneaking anything by him.
