Tennessee’s Rising Stars: Top 2027 Prospects

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2025 season will be the first where lacrosse is adopted as an official Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) sanctioned sport in the state. While Tennessee is not widely considered a traditional hotbed for lacrosse prospects, the fastest game on two feet is burgeoning within the state and the talent pool of prospects grows with it. He is a shifty dodger and is a threat to score with both hands. Will demonstrates a lacrosse IQ beyond his years, often taking advantage of defenders poor angles and manipulating slides with his eyes and stick fakes. He keeps his head up while dodging, identifying where slides are coming from and finding open teammates. His length and athleticism allow him to be aggressive on his opponent without the fear of being run by. Henry's speed and stick skills make him a huge asset in the clearing game, creating transition opportunities for his offense. Consistently imposing his will, he certainly has athletic ability beyond that of a freshman. His strength and speed help him run by his defender with ease and finish with a powerful righty shot on the run. Finn holds his own on the defensive side of the ball as well and isn't afraid to get physical with his matchup. He can also draw a slide on his own utilizing his speed to run past his opponent. He's not going to wow you with his speed or athleticism but has an uncanny ability to find gaps in the defense and finish in tight spaces with defenders draped over him. He's a bit undersized but makes up for it with his raw hustle and tenacity demonstrated by his 11 caused turnovers and 38 ground balls. Tom is extremely strong, quick, and athletic and is strong at the point of attack. He dominates the middle third of the field with his aggressiveness, never allowing his opponent to feel comfortable with the ball in his stick. Often drawing the opponents best defenseman, he is a lightning quick midfielder who could lose you in a phone booth. His shiftiness and ability to get free of his opponent quickly makes him a threat whenever he touches the ball. TJ has a strong and accurate shot with his right hand but can continue to improve on his left hand. Playing within a senior laden offense last season, Tyler played more complimentary role taking advantage of the attention his teammates drew. He is a high IQ player, effortlessly floating to gaps within the defense and making himself open for his teammates to find. He is a crafty finisher with soft hands allowing him to finish in tight spaces. As the most productive returning starter, he will be the primary threat within the offense. He plays very fundamentally sound defense for a young player, utilizing angles and body position to stop his opponent. While not the most athletic prospect, his high lacrosse IQ helps keep him in position and remain a step ahead of his attackman.
