As lacrosse continues to take the country by storm, Texas continues its growth into the sport bringing in athletes from all over the state. Texas lacrosse is paving its way into the scene with all the talent making itself known either by playing for big-named clubs like Baltimore Crabs or Madlax Capital or by excelling through their own individual clubs and high school teams. The Texas talent is nothing to sneeze at, with some of the top players in the class of 2025 already being committed to some top D1 programs such as Denver and Ohio State. However, name recognition isn't the only tell of the greatness of these players, as they've shown off their skills against top talent all around the country, so it's time to put some recognition on their names. With the fall club season coming up, let's take some time to look at some of the top talent coming out of the state of Texas.

Jack D'Spain is a highly touted defender not just for his insane physical size but for his innate ability to manipulate a player's stick. If a stick is hanging just slightly he will get there, whether it's a means of an over-the-head check or a simple poke perfectly jarring the ball loose. Alongside the clear strength he displays at his height, he has a considerable amount of speed behind him, making him a great option on any clears. Jack has shown all the qualities that make up an amazing defender, leading him to win not only two THSLL All-State awards but to also be named as a USL All-American. He is no new name to anyone in Texas, nor is he at the nation level as he plays for one of the top teams in the country with the Baltimore Crabs. His talents are noticed, as he will be attending Denver following his senior year, a clear top D1 program in the country.

Allen Badgwell is a multifaceted defender who can play either LSM or close defense due to his extreme athleticism and stick skills. He has control over the stick like no other, giving him impeccable ground-ball skills as he can move the ball to exactly where he wants it. With that in mind, it gives him an incredibly sneaky stick when it comes to checks, allowing him to keep players guessing when his next one might come. His talents and display of greatness led him to winning a THSLL All-State award this past year for Grapevine. All of this combined with his sheer strength and speed make him a great player to look out for in the next upcoming season.

Aiden Cakir is easily one of the best goalies coming out of Texas. With a slightly smaller build at 5'10, he still manages to make the goal look small due to his wide frame and sturdy feet. While those feet may be sturdy, they are wicked quick, allowing him to jump to all positions of the goal in a heartbeat. He has insanely fast hands but keeps a deceptive stick, allowing players to think one part of the goal is open but that's exactly where he wants them shooting. He shows a great calmness in goal and after each save he is able to get his head up quickly and find an open player for the clear. He is currently not committed but it would be no surprise if by the end of the year he ends up at a great D1 program.

[player_tooltip player_id='63966' first='Ben' last='Boyer'] is a common name for offensive players in Texas. As he played for the #1 ranked team in Texas going into the THSLL playoffs. During his year with Highland Park, he racked up experience playing some of the toughest teams in the country like Culver and IMG. By the end of his Junior year, he was named to the USL All-American and THSLL All-State list. He's also been making a name for himself at the national level playing for one of the top club teams in the country in Madlax. His experience has gone a long way in proving how great of a player [player_tooltip player_id='63966' first='Ben' last='Boyer'] is, as he has displayed his athleticism and slick stick skills from being able to play both LSM and close defense. There is no question that [player_tooltip player_id='63966' first='Ben' last='Boyer'] will be making headlines this fall, but his name has already been recognized as he will be attending Ohio State following his senior year.

With a name like [player_tooltip player_id='48393' first='Kimo' last='Kouletsis'], there is no questioning that he is an absolute baller. Kimo made a massive name for himself his Sophomore season at The Woodlands, putting up a whopping 139 points in just 22 games, with 77 goals and 62 assists. With those stats, it's obvious that Kimo is an all around offensive weapon, being able to not only score at will but draw all the attention of a defense so he can easily dish it off to a teammate to stuff it in. Kimo is a lefty but has no fear going to his right hand when necessary, but he will beat his defender by any means and bring two more praying they'll have a chance. In both his Sophomore and Junior seasons, Kimo made both THSLL All-State and USL All-American, proving his greatness time and time again. He has played some of the toughest competition in the country while playing for the top club team in the country in Team 91 Long Island, and this experience has gone a long way as he will be playing for a great D1 program in Penn following his Senior year. Have no doubt that [player_tooltip player_id='48393' first='Kimo' last='Kouletsis'] will be talked about for the rest of his high school campaign, and likely his college one as well.

Caleb Caldwell has made a massive name for himself this past year in the state of Texas. He boasted a 78.2% faceoff win percentage over the 17 games he played with Dallas Jesuit. This remarkable feat led him to making both THSLL All-State and USL All-American in just his first Varsity season with the team. His massive build makes him lethal for getting groundballs off the faceoff. His build and development as a midfielder has allowed him to also be a great defender if necessary, although with the amount he wins, it tends to not be. He has gained much experience at the club level playing for UNRL National, a team that consistently plays elite level programs to put their players names on notice. Caleb's accomplishments have definitely been noticed, as he will be taking his career over to Princeton following his senior year, so he is clearly a player to look out for this upcoming season.
